As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.

Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.

    Food was nice but it’s bit noisy environment. I was supposed to be given 10,000 points for birthday when we had lunch there but I never got those points. It’s a bit disappointing..

    Fair service but bad food quality. I ordered Tom Yum Soup, which looked like left from last table— few amount of soup with poor vegetables. Also, the soup tasted like they put sauce bought from the market with water as 1:10. I can’t tell if it’s Tom Yum soup or water with Tom yum sauce.

    Loved the food, the staff were friendly and smiley, but not enough of them seemed very understaffed and most were in the kitchen - we waited 10 to 15 mins for drinks, the food came quickly enough but the empty plates were left to stack up and just sat there for the whole meal, we had to make our own space by stacking the plates and cups. Maybe its a different way of service, but i'd say it was very unattentive and you'd had to go order more drinks or food by getting up and going over to the bar counter.
