   I'll start by admitting that I've been coming to Chef Geoff's when Geoff Tracy opened it more than 2 decades ago. The food is consistently excellent. But in the last year or so, the service has been erratic; sometimes great, and sometimes affirmatively poor (a few nights ago: waited 20 minutes for order to be taken, had to ask for napkins, had to ask for a spoon when soup was served, etc. - not a disaster at all, but not enjoyable). The servers themselves are fine; they simply are VERY understaffed and poorly managed. We'll still go back since the food remains great, but I'll just be prepared for hit-or-miss service. It's something management could easily correct.

   Wonderful receptionist, wonderful waitress, great space, and lovely food. Every time we have eaten there, it has been exceptionally good.

   One guest did not receive her order. We waited about 10-12 minutes and then found server who did bring us the missing entre. But it did take awhile.

   Although they had many empty tables outdoor , they first insisted our reservation was for indoor . They finally sat us in a table outdoor . The food was good and the service was good too . A little slow getting our coffee but it was ok at the end

   Went to brunch- had the Benedict, avocado toast, breakfast burrito, and waffle. All of the food was bland, absolutely no flavor, hollandaise sauce tasted like water, no salt in anything. Food was really disappointing. Not sure how this place gets such good reviews. Perhaps dinner is better..

   We ate outdoors to enjoy the great weather. The seats and the tables, however, were super cramped, since there is no leg room under tables (the legs supporting the tables leave no room for anyone with long legs). My salmon dish was quite good. My wife had the scallops, which came with a risotto that was too heavy and the scallops were too tough.

   Achingly slow and unfriendly service—we were waiting at the table 40 minutes before we had menus or water. The kitchen had run out of several dishes; understandable on a busy weekend evening, but the service was cavalier in offering suggestions/alternatives. I’ve been a regular diner here for over 10 years, and the food was the worst ever. I hope this is a temporary glitch and not a decline of a lovely business.

    Local restaurants that can offer delicious food, great service & a fun, lovely, spacious outdoor setting are an exceptional neighborhood asset. Chef Geoff’s pulls it together in NW for Cathedral and Wesley Heights. Be surprised by the unexpected cauliflower taco, flavorful steak quesadilla or tofu crunch bowl at daily Happy Hour. If you get Noah as your server & Erin’s behind the bar, all the better.
