This was the first time we have dined at Chez Francis and we all enjoyed our meal very much. The food was superb and the ambience just right for a special birthday meal. I will be recommending this to all my friends and family

Chez Francis offers an authentic country french style bistro - very much tastes of the mediterranean and south west. Simple, flavourful, delicious, in a friendly unpretentious setting. For a capital city Cardiff has little to offer in the way of good everyday dining as opposed to loads of fast-food nasties, Chez Francis offers a pleasant alternative at very reasonable prices. We have been twice, once for lunch, once in the evening and were really pleased with the quality of the food and the ambiance on both occasions.

Excellent in all respects. Exemplary and friendly service, delicious food at a very reasonable price, and excellent wines. I think all of our party had the 3 petits plats for about £11 (available at lunchtimes and some evenings) and that was certainly more than enough, though some brave people also had a desert. All was delicious. If I had the chicken livers in brandy again, I would ask for less, or better cooked, garlic, but that's a very personal thing. They were delectable anyway, as was my onion soup and mini cassoulet. There is nearby parking which is free in the evenings. We will definitely be back.

I ant recommend this place enough. Although this was my first visit it certainly won't be the last. Incredible, authentic French food and fantastic service! Tres Bien!
