   Underwhelming food and really bad service!Conveniently, the 20% gratuity is included. And the server will ask you for more (just for him). It was quite the opposite experience, compared to our visit a few years back.

   Everything about lunch at Chez Maggy was great. Lovely room, plenty of space between tables so you could easily carry on a conversation, delicious food, and wonderful service from our waiter. In fact, it was so good I took a friend to lunch there the next day!

   The food and service were excellent. It was our first dinner of the weekend and it set the bar that was not met anywhere else.

   There is a lot to like about this restaurant. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because of the “mandatory service charge” that is not disclosed upfront prior to ordering. Why does this matter? Simply because if you are appropriate and leave a 20% tip and then your service charge your bill going be 40% more than what you expected. I personally have issue with us business practice. I think it’s a little deceiving.  No, with regard to the food. I ordered the hamburger which was an incredibly unique cake on a hamburger. When you eat everything together, it’s wonderfully seasoned. The meat on the burger was a little overcooked and definitely under seasoned. The house, Bordeaux wine that I got by the glass was very good. The wife ordered the striped bass and loved it, and I had a bite and it was incredibly good and to be honest they actually know how to fish at this restaurant. The service was fantastic. It was not terribly noisy, we had a wonderful window seat. It was just overall very good experience and we will go back, but we will be ordering less due to the mandatory service charge. Oh, I will add that the cocktails are incredibly expensive. THE ONION SOUP WAS AMAZING! I order onion soup if it’s on the menu, no matter where I go, and this is the best I’ve ever had and I mean… EVER!

   The food was very good, especially the French onion soup. The wines were very expensive, even by the glass, but good selection. Service was good over all. Love the decor.

   This was a wonderful experience. The attention to detail was amazing. True baguette traditionale. And the escargot took me back to ones I had in France and Montreal. By the way the butter from the Loire valley is exquisite. All in all one of the best French restaurants I have ever been in the USA.

   Our first visit here when it was newly opened was amazing so we came back for a birthday celebration. This time service was very lack luster and apps were great but mains felt like frozen dinners.

   Chez Maggy is, hands down, our favorite restaurant in Denver! So authentically French, yet unpretentious. A culture of excellence and a great team provides a memorable dining experience. The entrees we had (truite amandine and bolognese) were absolute perfection. Although so many other menu items look wonderful, and we hope to try them in the future, so far we keep coming back to these two. Service was professional and attentive (appreciate you, Birch!) but not intrusive or smothering. You could tell that the actions of everyone we encountered, from the host who greeted us to the managers who checked on us, and certainly the kitchen are held to Chef Ludo's high standards. A wonderful experience we are anxious to repeat!
