Best of British beef, butchered & dry-aged in house and cooked over a charcoal grill. Chop House is an innovative blend of classic British steakhouse and cocktail bar brought to you by the team behind Monteiths & the White Horse Oyster Bar. Provenance is at the centre of the Chop House offer and we use only the finest beef sourced from artisan suppliers across Scotland.
The meat is dry aged for up to 90 days to add flavour, increase tenderness then the beef cooked on a charcoal grill, specially designed to give a subtle smoky flavour. Our fantastic food offering is matched by an extensive wine list from around the world and exceptional cocktail list. Open 7 days for lunch, dinner and Sunday roast! We have another Chop House in Bruntsfield & Leith

Dissapointed that the chateu briand was sold out by 5 o'clock. Lack of gravy and no one came to see how the meal was or if we required anything else. Meat was very nice but not very many vegetables to go with it.

    1) Our first dish, an appetiser, took 1 hr 10 mins to arrive; our main courses took almost 2 hrs to arrive. 2) the male toilet would not flush 3) the chair that one of us sat on was broken and after we alerted the waitstaff they didn’t do anything about it 4) Food and cocktails were decent but service could be much improved

In short: I’ve no intention of visiting Chop House again. Arrived on time. Had my table pointed out. Waited 23 mins to be asked if I wanted a drink, and didn’t see a menu for 45 mins. Food took a while to come, and it wasn’t worth the wait: porterhouse and t-bones were basically tasteless, and cold; sirloin was over-cooked. No one asked if I wanted any vinegar for the chips, or extra sauces. And, all this cost a lot more than it was worth! It wasn’t busy, it just felt like no one cared that we were there. The server was pleasant enough, on the rare, infrequent occasions they interacted with us. Overall, an expensive disappointment; a mistake not to be repeated.

We were seated upstairs at a small table that seemed to constantly vibrate. It was strange but didnt ruin the meal. Service was quick and our drinks and food were brought quickly. The drinks were on the small size for the price charged. The food was lovely my steak sandwhich was full of flavour and my sister enjoyed her monkfish very much. The only down side was the accompaning shoe string fries which were not seasoned , went cold very quickly and were impossible to eat with a fork. I would recommned switching those for another side

An overall 3. The tables upstairs all shake constantly because of a fan that’s clearly hitting the ducting above. We had to move to another table downstairs as it was driving me insane. My steak was chewy and the service was ok but nothing exciting considering we were the only table in. Very sad because we always loved the leith one and raved about the steaks. At £125 for an average lunch I’m afraid we won’t be back.

Found the food average. Steak knives not sharp. Steak a little to rare (was supposed to be medium). Expensive.

Food was good - not great but not poor. The drinks menu is pretty small which is fine but you do need to make sure you gave everything on it. No Malbec this evening - was the same about a month ago when we last visited. Change the listing / change the supplier ?? Friend ordered a coffee from the 3 speciality coffees but it wasn’t available ?? Your buying needs to be better. Hope that helps. Thanks D
