   Food was delicious. Service was friendly but the set up is a little hard to understand I think the staff was a bit short. It’s fast casual but you still order once you’ve been seated. Great food, cool staff and good drinks.

   The establishment has two locations. One in the “Post” and the other in the Montrose area of the city. I’m visiting, coincidentally I arrived at the “Post” location which is about 9-10 minutes from this location . I called/explained the dilemma & advised I was otw. Whomever I spoke with was courteous/understanding and let me know he’d pushed my reservation back and would see me shortly. Upon arrival, I greeted the hostess notifying her who I was and my reservation time of 7:15. She made the comment of, “ it looks like you’re a little late” which I didn’t feel was necessary considering both their grace period & the conversation I’d had with the other personnel. Nevertheless, my guest and I were seated shortly after. Service was a bit slow for a Monday. My guest and I were seated outside, the establishment has a beautiful patio. We received water shortly before placing our orders, I’d requested some straws. The straws didn’t arrive to our table until after our food had come. Our server did apologize stating her reasoning why. I ordered the “Buka” & “Meat/Veggie pie mini’s”. The “Buka” was flavorful. I would’ve appreciated a bit more plantain, the stew was tomato based which was great and the portion size was nice as well. A lot of rice was given, I think a little bit more stew could’ve been as well to ration out the portion of rice -stew but overall good. Unfortunately, my pie mini’s never came. It wasn’t until I finished my entree and brought it to the attention of my server that she seemed to realize. It was a bit of an odd interaction, no apology or offer to bring them out complimentary. She did come back to let me know they’d been removed from my check, which is rightfully so as I never received them. I do think it’s a great restaurant over all, a bit more emphasis on customer service would make it fantastic….i would overall try the place again.

   Everything from the service to the ambiance to the food was amazing. This was a date night pick that I found scrolling on Tik Tok. I really enjoyed being able to try something different and the flavors did not miss!

   ChopnBlok is an all time favorite. I’ve never had anything else in Houston like it. The food is so unique and so full of flavor. I tell everyone about this restaurant every time I get the chance. Perfect spot for a date night too.
