   Food was excellent. Service could have been faster but I don’t really have complaints since we were taking our time. It’s a bit pricey, but that’s to be expected.

   Great atmosphere with a modern open concept design. We did the tasting menu. Some items were amazing (sushi and tostadas) while others were subpar (salmon). The pacing and service were excellent at the beginning of the meal, but about halfway through, the pacing of each course took much longer. We waited 40 minutes for the dessert, so, unfortunately, we had to take it to go. I’m not sure if our waiter got busy with other tables or not, as he didn’t communicate anything to us. $300 for two people is a bit steep for the lack of attention we received.

   I’m absolutely astounded how this restaurant remains open. We got here at our reservation time, the hostess stand ladies gave us smirks that we made our reservation on time and had trouble seating us opposed to some walk ins. We ordered cocktails and ALL foods at the same time and received the cocktails after 15 minutes, the appetizers after 20-25 mins. But then after we did not receive the main course for our table after ANOTHER hour. We ordered a sake bottle and it took 20 minutes for the server to come back to us to tell us the plum one isn’t available and took 10 minutes to get the replacement. We talked to the manager, Josh, although sympathetic and offering us dessert comped, that was still not a satisfactory fix to the terrible experience. My advice, get anything else, Chotto Matte is completely a waste of time, money, and stomach space.

   Although we ha a reservation at 8:30 we had to wait for more than 1:30 min. Go get seats. The rest of the night after we had seats was great .

   A very chic spot. On the eighth floor, seemingly “above it all.” A worthy successor to the now closed Hakkasan.

   Food was excellent. Front of house staff was shockingly bad. The guy in lobby couldn’t find my confirmed reservation. The host upstairs seated us as a party of two outside on a cold night when we reserved for 4 indoors. The woman who was seating us was incredibly pompous and rude. When brought back to the host stand the host acted as if he was doing us a favor by seating us for what we reserved. Said “we are busy and I’ll do my best to seat you inside”. It’s no wonder their reviews are so bad online. Rude and poorly trained front of house staff turn people off. Server James was great. Food runners were poorly trained. If you go, go for the vibes, but don’t expect the service to match the price.
