Overrated. Sent back my drink. Tuna tartare: fine. Steak: chewy. Potato was good. Brussel sprouts were good but the serving was huge

I had been looking forward to dining at this beautiful restaurant…while the restaurant itself is stunning the food is less to be desired. Our waiter was great and attentive as was the hostess/manager. I guess they may need to find a new chef bc we had to return our food twice to get it right. And we are not picky eaters.

The wait staff were welcoming, attentive, and ensured that we were comfortable on a cool evening by adjusting the heating unit. Given the reviews, we were quite surprised and very disappointed in the food. I had the ‘Wagyu’ flank steak which was far removed from an actual Wagyu as it was a tough and grisly cut with little flavor. The smashed potatoes tasted greasy. My wife had a salad, which she thought was good, but the side order of crab cake came unadorned on a white plate, not even a few pieces of lettuce for decoration and lacked flavor. Most surprising was when the server cleared the table she made no inquiry on if there was a problem since the food on my plate was 2/3 untouched. But our dissatisfaction didn’t end there. On our way out my wife stopped to use the rest room only to find no TP and it looked unclean. We will not be returning nor recommending Church and Union to our network.

Food was good. Becca was a great server. A little overpriced, even for Charleston, for not exceptional food. Building is very pretty.

Beautiful venue. Food was well below par. We got salmon and mahi mahi as mains with the mussel appetiser. We have never seen mussels so small! The size of peas! The Mahi mahi was cooked well, but the sause and greens just tasted bad. The salmon was just ok. But both portions were only a bit more than a mouthful and totally not worth the cost. Nice place, location, and service. Some of the food was just not tasty or tasted bad (did not finish the small portion even though we were famished)!

Our server was not kind or helpful. We love visiting Church and Union when we come to Charleston. This was our first negative experience.

The restaurant is beautiful. Service was not the best, not the worst. My friend and I had brunch. I had avocado toast with a side of breakfast sausage. The avocado toast was delicious. The value just isn’t there. $18 for avocado toast, $6 for coffee (not an espresso drink, just brewed coffee) and $10 for a single piece of sausage is simply insane.
