   I don’t like to be critical of restaurants but this is my last visit to City Pork Highland at Perkins. Was not impressed the first visit or two but decided to give it another try——very disappointed in the food. The half smoked chicken was the driest, toughest chicken I’ve ever had and the burger ordered medium/medium rare was practically raw. Our server was great and attentive but that doesn’t compensate for the poor quality of our entrees.

   The restaurant was open till 10. At 9 the turned the music off and at 9:15 they turned 1/2 the lights off. So we decided to just leave. As soon as we walked out the door they locked it. Technically they were open for another 45 mins.

   Tried City Pork on Highland and Perkins- great food and service. Jessi said the menu is far more extensive here than the lsu campus location.

   No wait with open table reserved. Sat promptly. Server was timely as well as speed of order. Food was wonderful. Meal was truly enjoyed. Glad we did open table, retirement party had the bad tables. And some sort of school dance had high schoolers at a number of the tables. We had no issues being seated nor with our meal.

    We just moved to Louisiana and are just starting to explore the food scene. Took a shot at City Pork based on OT reviews and we were not disappointed. Fun cocktails. Found a great bottle of wine with hardly any markup! The food: Whoa. We had the pork belly burnt ends for an app. I had the pork schnitzle and the hubs had the BBQ Sampler. Huge servings. Tasted amazing. We took home enough for a second meal each. Then dessert - absolutely the best cheesecake I have ever tasted. Made with goat cheese so a teeny bit more savory than sweet. We will certainly be back!
