The cocktails were superb. Unfortunately they were out of some items on the food menu, so I didn’t get my first choice for food. The food was great, but only gave it 4 stars because they didn’t have some items. Great place to go for a cocktail and some small bites.

Clementine Cocktail Bar hosted another Chef Night and this time it was with Providence, RI native Quinneil Simmons better known as "Chef Q" of Fork and Flower. It was a 4 course dinner for $70 per person. I chose the 6pm seating and all the seats were filled. The 4 course dinner was designed to wake up our palate for the autumn season. After every course was brought out, Chef Q would come out to introduce the plate in front of us. Our first course was Shiro Wat, which had fried corn ribs and a sauce of chickpea, tomato, pickled flower petals, and herbs. The sauce was very flavorful and I really enjoyed dipping the fried corn ribs in it. It had a little kick, but not much. Our second course was paella with mussels, prawns, chorizo, bomba rice, and pa amb tomàquet. The rice was probably the weakest part of this dish. It didn't have much taste and felt like it didn't add much to the dish. The rice wasn't the usual saffron yellow seasoned rice that is usually in paella, but I did like the mussels, prawns, and chorizo. The pa amb tomàquet also known as pan con tomate was also a nice extra touch, but again not usually served with paella. Our third course was piri piri chicken which was paired with a petite seasonal salad. This was probably my least liked dish of the four courses and the one I didn't eat the most of. If you looked at all the piri piri chicken served, you can see some chicken were more charred than others. I had to switch with my husband's because mine was extra charred. Inside, you can still see some red meat though it was charred outside and it just didn't have a lot of flavor. The petite seasonal salad was lost on the plate since it was just a few pieces of radishes. It was also very hard to cut the chicken. Our fourth course was an apple cider cookie, dulce de leche cremeux, candied pear, hot chocolate ice cream. Since I love apple cider and candied pear, I was really looking forward to it, but I was utterly disappointed. Something about it was off.

Clementine Cocktail Bar located in downtown Providence offers a simple and elegant atmosphere. Inside, there are 20 seats around a three-sided bar. Outside there were 2 tables. Vibrant art pieces hang on the brick wall and a golden dandelion chandelier hang from the ceiling. I made a reservation through OpenTable for seating for 2 on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 3:30 pm. When my friend and I walked in, there was only 1 gentleman sitting at the bar. We learnt later that his name was Christian and is the general manager and taught everything our bartender Karael knows. The owner of Clementine Cocktail Bar is the former mayor of Providence, Congressman David Cicilline, and he hand picked all the decor. My friend and I started with the Beso cocktail, which has Italicus Rosolio di Bergamatto, Chambord, Lemon, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, and Cava. The coolest part of this drink was Karael topping off the drink with a bubble using a cocktail smoking bubble gun. The second drink I had was the Thorne cocktail which had Fords Gin, Homemade Rose Cordial, Lemon, Rose Water, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, and Elderflower Tonic. It was very good. My friend had the Golden Berry Bliss cocktail, which has Pierre Ferrand 1840, Golden Berry Extract, Lime, Cava, and Bitters. I think our second drinks were stronger than the first one, but both looked aesthetically pleasing. My friend didn't really like the Golden Berry Bliss so she didn't drink much of it. Karael noticed this and comped the drink, which was completely unexpected. We enjoyed watching Karael make our drinks. He was so focused and precise. Also, he was just so friendly and personable the whole time we were there. For food, we shared the Chicken Dumplings and House Cut Fries. The dumplings were fried well and the sauce was very good. I enjoyed the fries as well. Come to Clementine Cocktail Bar for a great time with delicious food, amazing cocktails, and exceptional service. I can't wait to come back!

Perfectly executed, balanced, lovely cocktails, served by handsome and pleasant bar staff. Perfect charcuterie to snack on, we shared the rigatoni afterward, which was delicious. Nice ambiance and art, love the space; it may be small but the high ceilings add room so it never feels congested.

This is great part of the proliferation of cocktail bars in Providence. Very small sleek space right across from the Trinity theater. Really creative drinks and efficient service.
