   We attended the Billecart-Salmon champagne dinner. Service was excellent, however (once again) the food fell short. The Jonah crab and caviar dish was excellent, followed by a scallop crudo with apple plate that was awful and had nothing to do with champagne served. Sent it back. The fried chicken dish with a trio of aioli’s was good, but had no pairing with rose champagne served. Finally, the pork tasting dish had horribly overcooked pork tenderloin that was tough and dry. Other items on plate were good. Champagne tastings were slight (to say the least). A few sips at best. No champagne was poured for dessert items, despite being listed on on-line menu for event. Overall, we were disappointed, especially given the price.

   The alum chef series dinner with chef Will was amazing! Every dish was beautifully presented and had so much flavor. The scallop, pasta and dessert were all home runs. The wine pairings were also very nice and added a luxury touch to the overall experience. If we are ever in the area again, we will certainly return.

   Came here for a birthday dinner, wasn’t sure exactly what to expect. From the moment we were shown to our table, the service was exceptional. The staff was professional while still being personable and welcoming. The food was phenomenal and going into it I wasn’t sure what to expect for portion sizes but honestly, the portions were perfect, leaving room for the next course but filling us up by the end. While it is pricey, I truly feel that I got the experience that I paid for and more. Thank you for a great night!

   My husband and I so enjoy COAST. We welcomed the Fall season, by attending the Matt Behan -Oyster Dinner . Such a pleasure to meet Matt and learn of Ninigret Nectars - and his family oyster farm. Everything was exceptional. The unique food courses were outstanding….the wine pairings, perfect. Thank you Matthew! The servers are discreet and attentive, yet so warm. Special thanks to Meredith and her team! We will see you soon; at the upcoming wine dinner! Thank you!

   Exceptional service and all around positive experience! I am hesitant to say anything negative about this venerable place because I love it. However, establishments which strive for perfection and promote themselves as the best, need to attain excellence at every turn. This was not the case at last nights dinner at the Coast, Ocean House’s finest restaurant. I treated my friend to a special birthday dinner and the entirety of the experience held its worth. Dinner was fun, delicious and very, very salty. Not just one dish (Stonington lobster with noodles was a challenge to eat, despite the generally good flavor, and I could not finish it) but a couple of other items suffered (especially the accompanying carrot offered with the Wagyu beef dish swam in large sea salt flakes). Now this may sound picky but, the expectation is perfection, and it was not. The dinner was great but it didn’t feel special. Sad because it was very expensive. Fortunately, the exceptional service made up for the slightly disappointing food. All of this being said, I recognize how difficult it must be to bring your “A”game every single day. I’ll give them another try with the hope that the “A game” is on the menu.

    This a fabulous restaurant. A farm to table price fixe menu- the food was spectacular. Worth every penny. The service was the best- every need attended to by the very friendly and incredibly professional staff. overlooking the ocean- the views literally could not have been better. It is pricey- but completely worth it.
