    I was hoping to fall in love. . Esco has zero good restaurants. I mean absolutely zero. Some thoughts about Collette’s/ Hunsakers- Please season the food more, very bland. And very expensive for what you get. May I suggest baby carrots with the filet instead of sliced horse carrots. Food was average at best, service a bit better, and we were one of two tables dining, so ambiance was questionable. Lose the chargers and napkin rings. Again, was hoping this would be our spot in Esco, but it missed.

    Thank you for giving us a try Michael. I will ask the farmers if they can pull the carrots a little earlier so they are more size appropriate. I will pass on your seasoning suggestion, we would have happily accommodated you had we been aware. We appreciate the support that you gave by coming in and I know our farmers do too, eating real food can seem to have an impact on the pocket book, but the alternative has a bigger impact on ones health. Road closures, construction and weather can affect a business. I am sorry you had to experience that. If you'd like to give us another try, just reach out and we will be prepared for you.

    Great little high end restaurant. Conveniently located in downtown Escondido although currently the road is under construction. No noise in the evening, however. Nicely decorated for ambiance. The staff is so friendly and nice. Casey was our waiter. Excellent service. The food, ( this was a pre-designed meal for Valentine’s Day) was outstanding. It came out in 6 courses, I think. Steak and lobster was very good as the main course. Cocktails were great! It was a bit pricey but other than that, a great experience.

    Overall the experience was okay. I do appreciate the engagement with local farmers to curate the menu but I felt that some of the dishes were missing a pop. Additionally it is fairly expensive which I typically don't mind if I find I am getting value from the price tag.

    Very cool place, the service was great and staff were very friendly. The food was really good and portion sizes were generous. It kinda has an old school fancy vibe in the dining room which was really cool. I’ll definitely go back, it’s a fun little spot.

    Service was 5 star, kitchen was original and high quality, nice dining room. Was disappointed in the pricing... 2 apps, 2 mains, a dessert and one glass of California wine + tip = $300. I paid the same for a Michelin 2-star in a major metropolis in Europe last week...

    This was our first dining experience at Collette's. To say it was exquisitely wonderful is the perfect description for our experience. Everything met our expectation of what we surmised it would be with a name like Collette's. It is such a classy name and appropriately so. The service was excellent, the food was absolutely superb, the ambience made our evening so enjoyable and relaxed, we overstayed our welcome. We'll be back for sure!

    Collette’s is wonderful. The food is perfect and the ambience is warm and inviting. The staff really cares about the dining experience. This is the best restaurant in Escondido hands down.

    The place is cute and has a nice ambience The food selection was a limited and overpriced. The only vegetarian selection was just steamed vegetables—I don’t think a whole lot of thought went into it. The other food we had was good but we probably won’t be back because of the prices.
