Nested in Uphams Corner, Dorchester, we're a lively and intimate 30-seat restaurant serving brunch on the weekend and dinner at night with a full bar and outdoor patio. Our food is a celebration of the ingredients and flavors of the African diaspora connected from Asia to the Americas — global comfort food. We are proudly Black-owned, immigrant-owned, and women-owned. We believe that food is a vital aspect of community building and we envision a place that is actively engaged in highlighting the culture, art, and history of our community.

- Patio dining: patio reservations are weather-dependent and may be canceled due to inclement weather. Our patios are partially covered protecting from light to moderate rain and light wind.

- Timing: dinner's last seating is at 8:45pm and brunch's last seating is at 1:30pm. Your table is reserved for 90 mins for parties of 1-5 guests and 2 hrs for parties of 6+ guests.

From the OpenTable editors: This Dorchester gem's cross-cultural menu is unlike anything else in the region, and that's why it's already earned a five-star review in the Boston Globe and been named Boston Magazine's best new restaurant in 2023. The restaurant, led by managing partner Biplaw Rai and chef partner Kwasi Kwaa, is a nod to the rich contributions of immigrants to this country. Dishes embrace the ingredients and flavours of the African diaspora, which means you'll find West African-style suya beef with caramelised onions and spicy Ghanaian plantain preparation kelewele. Get in on the celebrations in the light and airy dining room or the greenery-lined patio in the back, all part of what was once a historic rest station in Upham's Corner.

    I dare you to find a flaw. Warm welcome. The smell of something good coming out of the kitchen. Attentive and timely service. A cozy vibe. And the food! Such good food! I love this place.

    So at the heart of it, it’s really all about the food and the food here is Wonder Full. Yeah my partner, and I often talk about the seasonings, but in this case, it was so much more it was the subtle layers or the blending together like a ballet of flavors, components, and cooking methods. We weren’t sure if it would be as good as all the hype, but it is the room is very small and it’s hard not to be somewhere in the room where it’s tight. But the service which was connected, efficient and caring was impressive. We signed up for the New Year’s Eve dinner on the spot. So glad to have these people who own and run this restaurant in such a community and caring manner close by and a neighborhood which is generally overlooked for restaurants of any quality. BRAVO!

    Amazing depth in flavors and spices, three of us ate at comfort kitchen for the first time and we all felt the food was the best we have had in a very long time. Excellent cocktails and service. Only area that could improve- our chairs were uncomfortable. Will definitely return!!!

    Wonderful food and service except for our table was far too small to accommodate our party of four. Servers brought food and drink to us and looked at us blankly as we all beheld our full table until we, the guests, had to stack dishes on top of each other and onto nearby window-sills to fit everything on the table—this was only for four entrees and two sides. Please, pace the firing of the dishes, or get a larger table or do not seat four there. Hope to be back!

    Main courses are very good. Appetizers meh and drink descriptions are so lengthy and esoteric. It’s also a coffee place that turns into a restaurant or vice versa. But it’s worth the visit.

    Comfort Kitchen has by far the best restaurant in Boston. The food, drinks, ambiance, and service are wonderful. The quality far exceeds the price you pay. Would highly recommend Saturday and Sunday brunch in addition to dinner. The dumplings are amazing.

    The food was fine - not #10-best-in-Boston good. Drinks were really good, I thought, though. The staff was very pleasant, but service was odd - things came out of order (and that's ok if that's the style but did not seem to be), and not peculiarly accommodating with food constraints. Overall, it did not convince us it was really worth the hype and the long-awaited outing...
