Nested in Uphams Corner, Dorchester, we're a lively and intimate 30-seat restaurant serving brunch on the weekend and dinner at night with a full bar and outdoor patio. Our food is a celebration of the ingredients and flavors of the African diaspora connected from Asia to the Americas — global comfort food. We are proudly Black-owned, immigrant-owned, and women-owned. We believe that food is a vital aspect of community building and we envision a place that is actively engaged in highlighting the culture, art, and history of our community.

- Patio dining: patio reservations are weather-dependent and may be canceled due to inclement weather. Our patios are partially covered protecting from light to moderate rain and light wind.

- Timing: dinner's last seating is at 8:45pm and brunch's last seating is at 1:30pm. Your table is reserved for 90 mins for parties of 1-5 guests and 2 hrs for parties of 6+ guests.

From the OpenTable editors: This Dorchester gem's cross-cultural menu is unlike anything else in the region, and that's why it's already earned a five-star review in the Boston Globe and been named Boston Magazine's best new restaurant in 2023. The restaurant, led by managing partner Biplaw Rai and chef partner Kwasi Kwaa, is a nod to the rich contributions of immigrants to this country. Dishes embrace the ingredients and flavours of the African diaspora, which means you'll find West African-style suya beef with caramelised onions and spicy Ghanaian plantain preparation kelewele. Get in on the celebrations in the light and airy dining room or the greenery-lined patio in the back, all part of what was once a historic rest station in Upham's Corner.

    It was my first time at Comfort Kitchen for brunch with my family and we all loved the food! I ordered the Dreamer Sandwich which did not disappoint on flavor - the pork belly was cooked perfectly, and the spicy sauce was not too spicy- it gave it enough flare for that extra needed spice. We also ordered the team's brunch favorite - Plantain Pancakes - this intrigued me because who would've thought that plantain pancakes were a thing and that good!! The walnut praline on top gave it the additional sweetness that it needed for the traditional pancakes and syrup concept. You can say that my overall brunch experience was sweet and spicy! What a great start to my day!

    I was disappointed with food at this place. The appetizers and desserts were good but their main dishes didn’t have the right balance. We ordered okra, sliders, duck, short ribs (were dry), corn cake and sorbet. The service was subpar with similar priced restaurants. Having a casual vibe doesn’t mean relaxed service.
