Chicago’s cutest little French bistro & wine bar. Coquette is a pink Parisian dream offering modern French cuisine paired with exciting wines and cocktails.

Led by Executive Chef Marcos Campos, Culinary Director Erwin Mallet and Executive Pastry Chef Shannah Primiano, Coquette expresses their vision for a modern bistro, where quintessential recipes and iconic dishes are matched with contemporary influences. Though our cuisine may be “nouvelle” our equipment is undeniably primitive, with all cooking done by live-fire ovens and mangal grills. We also feature a dry aging system that blends state-of-the-art technology with methods that go back thousands of years to unleash the flavor and tenderness of the beef, duck and fish prepared in our kitchen. Coquette’s wine list is a playful celebration of France’s most under-appreciated regions and boldest winemakers.

Had a great dinner. The French onion soup was delicious. So often this type of soup is very salty. This one was seasoned perfectly. The burger was juicy and delicious. Definitely want to return. My only criticism is on a rainy evening, it wasn't clear where one could park. We wound up finding a spot on Randolph. If most of the clientele are taking an Uber, then I guess it doesn't matter. For suburbanites, it's a good thing we know the city.

Asked for a medium rare steak it was medium to medium well. Ordered cauliflower with greyer cheese came out lukewarm Pinned frites was a scant portion and mediocre. Specifically told Wait staff that we needed to be finished eating and out of the restaurant at 7:30 after arriving at 6:30 and the food came out at 7:16. Place was not crowded. It was overpriced for the food and service. The food was mediocre and I spent more than 150. I like to spend money on fine dining and often spend more. But this was a major disappointment. And a French restaurant that doesn’t make Bernaise sauce for their meat and doesn’t have Pernod is not to be trusted. Find dining and we packed our food in to go boxes while an automatic device charge of 18% was added to the bill. Obviously will not be back. Obviously will not recommend this place to anyone.

Went for a nice date. Patrick and M make a top knotch team. Perfectly attentive without being intrusive. We're coming back for galette wizardry as soon as possible.

For some reason....we were the only table there on a regular Friday evening at 7pm! It was bizarre. Food was good and reasonably priced.

We went on a Thursday for a birthday dinner and were one of two parties in the entire restaurant. The service lacked attentiveness, no check on food once delivered, had to flag someone down for the check. We expected more from the service especially given the astonishing vacancy of the restaurant, and the cost of the meal.

Our experience was awful. The service was terrible. We had to wait over 10 minutes to even get asked if we would like a drink and then that was after a party that was seated after us was waited on first. We had to ask multiple times to even get the water refilled. Never asked if we wanted another drink. For the few tables filled in the restaurant and seeing 3-4 servers; it was hard to figure out why the service was slow and terrible. The duck entree was good; however the bavette steak entree was not good at all. Very disappointing!

I went here for my birthday with my husband and some friends. Overall the food was pretty good. Highlights were the date ratatouille, mushrooms, and salmon for dinner. The chocolate hazelnut tart and profiteroles were delicious for dessert. The salmon was a bit salty but very flavorful just note that before ordering. The ambiance was fine. The server seemed a little aloof to our questions about the menu and it took some time for them to deliver answers back to us regarding allergies, options for dessert. We also felt a bit rushed despite no one really being in the restaurant when we went. They said they were preparing for a busy night ahead of them and wanted to make sure we ordered everything at once. Once we did, we were not checked on a ton and water glasses were left empty for a while and the table was either cleared too quickly or not quick enough. We weren’t in a hurry but at some point it felt like our table was an inconvenience to the wait staff. Overall, I would recommend for food but note the service could be less optimal. Not sure I will go here again, but for a first try for someone it was worth the dishes I tried.

Very awkward server who did not greet table until 5-8 minutes in. When he came he approached the table like we had already been greeted. Food was just okay. it certainly wasn’t bad but for the price point I don’t think I’d come back for dinner. Great ambiance though for a girls night out. Maybe better for cocktails & apps

Service was terrible! Not even told us to other sides. With our meal we thought steak came with a little side but waiter never said anything
