   Our server was fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful evening! I didn’t catch his name, but he recently relocated here from Chicago if that helps. I hope the management will recognize this stellar employee!

   Good food but overpriced and portions too small. All sides cost extra. There’s similar quality sea food to be found in DC at more reasonable prices/portions.

   We had a fantastic time celebrating my husband's birthday with our family of four. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, and our server, Chris, was incredibly attentive and helpful. It was clear that the restaurant had read the notes on our reservation, as everyone wished my husband a happy birthday, which made the occasion feel even more special. As a thoughtful gesture, they also gifted us a dish in celebration of his birthday, and to top it off, I received a charming purse hook as a keepsake. The food and service were exceptional, and we will definitely return the next time we’re in DC.

   We unfortunately had multiple issues with service at Cordelia Fish Bar this past Saturday evening. We ordered the recommended special (Sea Bream) and the order was taken and then later we were told they were out of it. Then we ordered the recommended alternative (Sea Bass) and the order was accepted and then later we were told they were out of that also. A manager came over to explain but in the course of the discussion indicated that this was partially our fault because we ordered the entree after we had order the appetizer and not at the same time we ordered the appetizer which is really not a great way to approach this situation since both orders were originally accepted. While our reservation was on the later side of the evening it was well within the operating hours. For a fish restaurant to be out of 2 of the only 4 or 5 fish entrees on the menu during normal operating hours on a Saturday evening does not bode well. While the servers themselves were actually quite friendly, the service itself was poor and also slow. While they did provide an additional side and additional dessert that was not billed, we were not asked ahead of time if we wanted that particular side or that particular dessert so it would not have been clear if those were things we actually wanted to eat. There is no shortage of above average but not phenomenal restaurants in DC and, in fact, no shortage of those within Union Market so we will not be going back to Cordelia.
