   Lovely night out to celebrate my son’s Birthday. Booked slightly earlier than most people dine, at 17:30, which meant the restaurant was almost empty. The waiter was quick, very polite and knowledgable about the menu. There was a good variety on the menu, including several vegetarian options. All choices were delicious and well presented. We were sat in a cubicle booth which I thought a little odd for that sort of restaurant but it didn’t take too much away from the ambience of the venue. All members of the party said they would definitely be visiting again in the future.

   Staff was polite and did not rush us. Food was good. When it came to the bill we were surprised by a 10% surcharge! Gin did not include tonic although the menu read as though the tonic was included. Cheeky! Twohundred ml Fevertree tonic was £3.45!! The gin was £8.60 for 25 ml (whole bottle retails for £27)!!! This is an unacceptable mark up. Discussed with the waiter who pointed out there was nothing he could do. The manager had gone for the night an calling was out of the question. Reluctantly I paid. Will not go back and I advise everyone not to go there unless you like paying over the odds and being misled.

   Food choices were very limited - everything we wanted to order was out of stock. No scallops, no mussels, no crab, no Côte de boeuf. The food we did get was mediocre, especially the overcooked (microwaved) spinach and undercooked, stringy tough green beans. Service was sultry and almost rude. Tired sighs and eye rolls when we asked for some mayonnaise with the fries is not a good way to treat customers.
