   Driven past this hotel many times and from the outside looks impressive. Inside is the same and we ate on a Saturday night. Restaurant area was very impressive but surprisingly for a Saturday night, very quiet. That suits us. Food and service were both very good and the overall experience was first class. Will definitely visit again.

   We booked dinner for 4 at 8pm. Seated promptly and drinks menus and specials explained. Really friendly staff. Very good selection of 3 courses. We had a combination off the menu and specials. Everyone really enjoyed their food and the portions were spot on. I hope more people locally from Brentwood, Harold Wood and Upminster support this lovely restaurant which also operates as a hotel. It would be a shame to lose it. We want to go back for afternoon tea soon!

   Went for a meal for a birthday....no atmosphere, although the venue itself is nice. Two of our party had the garlic chilli prawns...they were frozen tiny prawns...they didn't taste fresh, they were shocking. The steak was very tough, also wasn't given a steak knife had to ask for one. A cat wandered into the restaurant the ladies toilets had one of the three out of order, and one was very dirty from previous use so not use able.....these were the actual restaurant toilets. Given the quality of the food for the price it wasn't value

   Considering we were the only table in for afternoon tea, service was very very slow, we had to get up to ask for tea refill, sandwich’s were small not much to them. Had to wait for afternoon tea because there was a problem with the oven? Assume for warming of the scones, scones were lovely but we weren’t given enough cream, we asked for more twice when it finally came it had been microwaved so was all runny and unusable. It was my 50th birthday celebration with family so was a bit disappointed overal

   I would, we weren't amazed by our meal experience but it was valentines night and we all know service in valentines night is always worse than normal. The staff were very nice but just seemed too busy

   We booked in for a Sunday roast and we're disappointed with the overall meal. They had run out of parsnips which is never a good start. The sides then came up half way through the meal, the meat was cold and the stuffing inedible. They didn't charge us for the sides in the end but we had to ask for that. Maybe we went at a bad time (4pm) but the ambience was very strange. All in all, just a bit of a shame.

   The venue and service was good. Unfortunately the food was appalling. The fish was not cooked very well and chicken was slightly off. Unless they improve the quality of food in this establishment I will not be returning.

    Only one moan on two occasions I have asked for a certain mixer Pineapple juice first occasion they said they didn’t have any then the next time of asking they said the last one had just been sold ??? Let hope on my next visit they gave their bar stocked.
