   They took in too many reservations so they closed the restaurant to seating despite having a reservation. Was to be my birthday dinner. Oh well

   Have a dry aged steak and a sushi roll! Awesome selection to create your own combo. Food is very flavorful and portion correctly.

   Our server Justin was awesome. We love DK Steakhouse and will come back again. Love the new menu. We miss the crab cakes. The only thing is the parking but I’m glad we found parking last night. You have the best aged steaks. So yummy!! See you again soon.

   Food and Service is always great! We occasionally come to Waikiki to do a staycation and DK’s is always on the places to eat!

   The food and service might have received a higher overall rating. However, after leaving the restaurant, someone (didn’t leave their name) left me a voice mail stating we left without providing source of payment. I didn’t see the voice message until the next morning and immediately reviewed my copy of the receipt and checked my credit card statement online to validate payment was made. I made several attempts to contact the restaurant throughout the day, but they don’t allow voicemail to be left, only saying “call back after 4 PM. I called again at 4, 4:15, 4:45 and no answer, just the same voice message stating to call after 4PM. Finally, my call was answered after 6:10PM, only to be placed on a “brief” 5 minute hold. I explained to the receptionist why I was calling and she said she would check with a manager. I was placed on another “brief” hold. After several more minutes, the receptionist came back on the line to state an error on their end. I would have expected the manager to explain their error and apologize for this message stating I left their establishment without paying (which I clearly had). Further, I would have expected they would have called me (vs me having to call them) to clear up and close the issue out. Buyer beware.

   Do not come here if you’re booked with Marriot Waikīkī Resort and Spa! Terrible food in a dated ambiance! Expensive and NOT worth it.

   Very disappointed in this restaurant. DK’s use to be one of the best steak houses in Honolulu. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. We arrived for our 6pm reservation to a mostly empty restaurant. The hostess seemed very busy with her computer and barely looked up to greet us. She was not very friendly. We were seated in a mostly empty dinning room and waited for the wait staff. 15 min passed as we watched other patrons seated after us get service. Finally I flagged down a waiter and asked for water. He reluctantly poured us water explaining that our waiter would be with us shortly. Finally the waiter came and apologized, saying he was very busy! Not sure what was so pressing since the restaurant was mostly empty. Eventually we ordered and the food came. My steak was cooked properly but was tough and had gristle through it, hardly the cut of prime beef I expected. I’ve gotten much better steaks at Costco. When the check came I mentioned to the waiter that the steak was average at best and how we watched everyone get service while we were forgotten. He was kind enough to adjust the bill and even offered a free appetizer for the next visit. I explained that I didn’t need any freebies but was very disappointed in the entire experience. Frankly I won’t ever visit this restaurant again. While I think DK is a great chef, his management team is NOT professional. Certainly not at the same level as Hy’s and signature prime, although charging a similar price point. I left 1/2 the steak on the plate because it wasn’t edible. My advice to the would be dinner….. walk around the corner to Hy’s. Don’t waste your money here.

    Everything about this place is outstanding. The food, the service, the experience. I would go here again and again if I lived here. For our first dinner in Hawaii, it has set the bar very high. Will definitely return
