    July 15 - Ava at reception and Mairen, Julie, Thomas (from the kitchen), and Hudson in the dining room were excellent and super efficient! The Salmon Caper Aoli was perfect. It was kind of Hannah to pass by and say hello! Thank you all for your kind hospitality! BTW, I hear Julie will be leaving the Ambleside location to manage another Earls location. I think she has been a terrific manager. I wish her best of luck in her new position.

    Service was truly terrible – server took our order at least 4 times and still the order came through incorrectly. Took way too long to be served and we had 3 hungry kids with us, so the waiting was an issue. Asked for some bread for the table to fill hungry mouths quickly and we were charged $2 per slice of toasted - not buttered! – sourdough (what the heck). Food came and server had clearly forgot my main...came back 10 mins later and said the kitchen had burned the first piece of chicken so they made me a new one – as if I was getting some preferential treatment. Um, no, they forgot to put it through! Asked me 3 times to repeat my order (on different occasions). I had the Santa Fe Salad – is that meant to have dates in it?! Weird. Felt like the chef has sprinkled on the wrong topping. Pretty much a shambles. Won't be going back.

    This was my first time to Earls as we are more of a Fine Dining people. If we choose to go for comfort casual dining we usually go to Joey's in North Van. We always wanted to go to this location on Ambleside in West Van. Beautiful location on the waterfront, classy patio, people watching. Food was beyond our expectations, very tasty, good portions, well plated, best experience in a long time. Everyone was happy. Server was also amazing as the rest of the Staff. We had Steak&Sushi, Spinach Ricotta Ravioli, Jerk Chicken and Guava Margaritas. Perfect Summer Dinner.

    We always enjoy the food and ambiance. Unfortunately the service was terrible - inattentive, confused, and very slow. Hope that improves, we love this Earls.

    Wait for a while before enter the restaurant even made reservation. Happy hour have different sitting area. Service is very slow, waiting for 30 mins before food arrives. It is not pleasant experience overall.

    July 13 - Emma and Shilaan at reception and Paras, Montsi and Kimiya in the dining room were superb. It was very kind of Mairen to pass by and say hello. The halibut and the steaks were very good. A wonderful experience! Thank you!

    We came here with our 10 month old to meet a friend. We arrived late but the server and hostess seated us quickly which is always nice with a baby/toddler. I did request to not have a booth and was given a booth so this was a bit disappointing. Reason for this is because it is a lot easier to take your baby in and out of a high chair that isnt attached to the booth table with the surrounding booth as there is limited wiggle room. Another disappointment was it was happy hour but since we were seated in the standard dining area and not the lounge bar or patio we were told we could not have happy hour menu or pricing. This is ridiculous. Guests who dine at your Earls location who do not wish to be in patio with sun or the bar lounge should not be discriminated and given less choices with their dining experience. This is especially common and the case for families with babies or young kids who do not wish to be a the bar. To be told we couldn't enjoy happy hour menu and pricing because we are seated in the standard dining area is incredibly rude. Mind you, This is also called their "standard" dining area when we booked on open table. Food was good but it is poor restaurant etiquette to treat diners this way when telling them where they are seated is not eligible for happy hour despite online it is happy hour from 2-5pm and as any restaurant, this should be for every diner in your restaurant, not based on where they are seated. Leaving guest experience satisfaction poor and treating diners in your standard dining area as if theyre outcasts. Rude, disrespectful and ridiculous rule.

    Good consistent food and delicious. Service was good also but given the way earls has their delivery of service set up, there was a gap in service for a second drink. And when we asked the food runner for a second drink, she couldn’t do it and had to tell the server and she was busy. Eventually we could order but it was in line with our food
