With Echo & Rig Chef Sam Marvin has introduced a pioneering new concept transforming the long-held theories behind the steakhouse formula.

We put a unique nose-to-tail spin on the traditional steakhouse, allowing diners to indulge in the best cuts of meat for incredibly approachable prices.

A butcher before a steakhouse, we use every part of the animal. We care about every animal - how it lived, what it ate, and how it was cared for.

Our 7,000 square foot space is located in the Downtown Commons Neighborhood (DOCO) in the lobby of The Sawyer Hotel. Situated on the bustling J Street corridor facing the Golden 1 Center main entrance.

We have a versatile space: a private dining room with audio/visual capability, an outdoor patio, and an outdoor bar available for rent.

Great food, loud crowd on weekends. But great service as well and food came out quickly.

We had a phenomenal meal and evening at Echo & Rig. Our server, Jorge, was exceptional and the entire staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was delicious. We all had the filet mignon and they were phenomenal. The accompanying sauces were delicious too. Highly recommend!

I have been dining here for four or five years and bringing friends from out of town consistently. But tonight was probably the worst experience. I've had 10 minutes for someone to wait on us at least 15 to get our cocktail and then try to rush us into the order and we still hadn't even gotten our cocktail. We ordered a glass of wine and dinner was half gone when one glass shows up and the other one were told wasn't available any longer. Not the kind of service I'm used to from this restaurant that I would normally give five stars to.

The service team was outstanding! From the initial greeting by the Maitre ‘d to our waiter (Christian) and his support staff — waters always full to then presenting us with a surprise complimentary “kitchen treat” of Deep Fried Castelvetrano Olives — delicious! The complimentary ice cream dessert was a pleasant surprise as well. Overall, the service staff deserves the five stars we gave them. However, when the sides and main courses (both steaks) arrived, the meat was barely lukewarm, and the Romanesca veggie dish was actual totally cooled, no heat at all — very disappointing, hence the low rating on food quality and value. Someone between the kitchen staff and the staff member who delivered our meal (not Christian) dropped the ball. Fortunately, Christian was quick to remedy our problem by having the cook team “flash-heat” the meat…the outside was now at least slightly hotter than “warm.” We were served an entirely new, very hot Romanesca dish. Again, the wait staff, and Christian in particular, made us the focus of their task at hand — to make us feel welcome and offer us a great dining experience! They are the reason we may consider returning in the future.

Out date night out in a very long time. I must admit this is the best service we have ever had. I am definitely returning and letting all my family and friends know about our amazing experience here.

At dinner, we were talking about the difference that makes a good restaurant great. And that is that the staff spends the time to get to know you as a client and truly let you know they appreciate the fact that you're there. Hands down one of the top 10 places in Sacramento.

Service was great, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. It was updated from the traditional but to Simple and not worth it to me. Looked like a plate of beans with two eggs on it topped with salsa. Tasted better than it looked but still not something I would get again here
