   Pre fix Christmas menu was reasonably priced ! We were wowed by the first impression! Kudos to the chef . What he did to the fig was amazing!

   One of our favorite places to eat in Palm Springs. Great food and ambiance. The Milanese is the best in the desert and we loved the filet mignon last time we ate there. Highly recommend. Try the “849” cocktail if your thirsty

   Six of us were really looking forward to a lovely 849 Christmas Eve dinner. We had a 715 pm res and showed on time. We waited until 745 pm for our table, then waited for service. They’re always so nice, but must have been over whelmed. We had an uncomplicated dinner order of starters and mains, but waited until nearly ten to get it. The young manager was very kind and came by several times to apologize for the delays. We didn’t complain, but were disappointed our meal was so delayed. I hope the staff were treated with kindness, as they were clearly working very hard. I heard several other patrons make unhappy comments. It’s NOT the norm for 849, they’re usually top notch. Just a bad night.

   Well it was Christmas Eve. Two cooks didn’t show for the shift. The server did all he could, but we still waited 1 1/2 hours for our appetizers. The rest of the evening was recovery mode. After 3 hours we paid and left. Did not have desert. Other than a Holiday this is a great restaurant

   Very busy Christmas Eve. Food was delicious and creative. Tomahawk pork chop with sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts was amazing. Salmon came out piping hot. Dessert was a s’mores toffee fondue, with very little fondue! Interesting concept.

   How wonderful it was to spend this Christmas Eve with special friends at Eight4Nine. A true treasure in the desert. Food, service and ambiance just perfect! Our server Sean was on it. He couldn’t have been more welcoming and efficient. Eight4Nine you are loved by so many. Thank you for the marvelous times and memories!

    5 of us booked for a Christmas Eve late lunch. Open table let us book at 2:45 PM, and we did not realize that was about the last booking before they closed for lunch. They asked us to quickly order because orders after 3 o’clock would not be accepted. We ordered two lobster rolls, they had informed us they did not have the appropriate brioche rolls for them, only one would have it, and the other would have an alternative if we accepted. We decided to accept, although the lobster rolls were very Modest with hardly any lobster. One roll was almost inedible. We discussed with our server who kindly removed one of the lobster rolls from our bill, which was very appropriate and we were appreciative. Another person ordered a fried chicken sandwich which they enjoyed. Three of us had soup, which also was good. Another person ordered the Aji tuna poke bowl, which was quite Good. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time and it appeared that the lunch shift was anxious to leave and the dinner servers were yet to arrive for 5 PM. In hindsight, we wish they had actually not accepted a 245 booking. We actually wished we could’ve gone at five or 6 o’clock, but that was already Booked out. I think it was a combination of not great timing on a holiday with waiters and servers wanting to carry on with their lives, which is understandable to a degree, but should not have been allowed by the restaurant.
