Wood-fired pizza, steaks and seafood cooked on the Argentine grill along with homemade pastas are the basis for our food.     The staff was great. Friendly, outgoing, and very knowledgeable on menu and specials. The food was amazing. Flavor combinations and portions were perfect. Appetizer of artichole hearts and spinach with gorgonzola cheese sauce was an amazing start. Steak was tender and full flavored. Gorgonzola deep fried cheese on steak was amazing. Green chile mac and cheese with bacon was delicious. Smoked bacon was delicious and unlike anything I have had before. Chicken was moist and packed with flavor. Definitely try the candied orange cheese cake and flour less chocolate cake.

    Growing up in Tesuque and my mother still lives there, it was a 5 night a week place until the infamous change. At first it was fine, a nice decent menu with a variety of options. Last night the menus was 80% alcohol. The sparse food menu was 5 salads, 4 appetizers and 6 main courses. Ok, we found something. We opted for desert and again a menu of 90% alcohol was brought. Is this a restaurant or a bar? It used to be a lively, fun filled place of laughter where yes, alcohol was enjoyed but there was plenty of food items to enjoy. So much so that we got take out 5 nights a week to the point they even gave us steak scraps for the dogs (who they knew by name) back home. Things change but this is not going to survive. TVM doesn’t have the best food but there’s a reason why people go there despite the food not being top notch. Step it up El Nido. Sorry but that’s the truth. 35 year Tesuque resident.

    Great experience. Service was a bit slow but it was still fabulous. All the food ( halibut, filet, ravioli) was absolutely amazing. Nice ambiance. Will definitely go back next time we are in Santa Fe!

    I usually write raving reviews about El Nido but not today. 2 out of 3 dishes were done very well but the most expensive dish was a miss. I ordered the scallops and gnocchi. $48 Not cheap. My scallops were over salted and the chef did not take the side muscle off of the scallops. Everyone knows that you must take off the muscle. It was tough and not edible. The gnocchi was home made and fried--mostly burnt. I told our waiter at the end and probably should have sent the dish back. I don't do that often--if ever. But I should have said something earlier and I'm sure they would have taken care of it. I just didn't see the waiter till I had eaten one and gave one away. But I will return to El Nido because I will give them this miss. I always have a lovely meal there and I like the vibe there so much. But probably not order the scallops.
