About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Great for fine wines
Executive Chef Scott Anderson chose the name "elements" for the restaurant because he is passionate about sourcing fresh, local, organic ingredients and sustainably raised meats and seafood. He wants the very elements of your meal to play a major role in the taste of it. Then he and his team work to reveal the complementary flavor dimensions inherent in the elements by skillfully combining them—often in edgy new ways. Restaurant menus change constantly here, making this the dinner restaurant that is excitingly different every time you return.

If you're a foodie, you want to know where—and how--your food grew. It's fascinating, it's a good health practice and it provides extra pleasure from everyday experiences, like a meal with friends. elements is the American restaurant serving local steak and seafood, but with global influences in seasoning and cooking methods. A true culinary adventure!

Absolutely the best fine dining experience in the Princeton area. The courses are artfully plated and each taste elicits a sigh of delight. The staff describes each dish which typically includes at least four distinct taste sensations—they are knowledgeable and happy to share.

Great experience. Food is excellent. Definitely pay for the quality, but we feel it is worth it for special occasions or if one can afford.

The sashimi special menu, now offered with the flexibility of ala carte, is fantastic. We sampled 7 different dishes and were impressed with all 7. Flavors were pronounced as each type of seafood is accompanied by the imaginative use of vegetables, spices and sauces.

We had a prix fixe 5 course dinner there with a wine tasting for our anniversary. The wines were perfectly paired with each course, and they threw in a couple of amuse-bouches, along with tuna made four ways as an appetizer. The food was excellent, as was the presentation and service. This is a very expensive place, but you are meant to savor every bite and take your time. The food has a Japanese tinge about it. Even the plates were beautiful. You should know that Elements shares the downstairs space with Mistral and is located upstairs.

Found the food to be not good. We had gone there to be impressed. That did not happen. Most of the items on the 5 course tasting menu did not taste good. The desert was good. Overall, didn’t enjoy the food at all. Ambience and service were good.

We took our attorney and his wife to dinner to express our gratitude for special work he did for us this year. In jest he said he wanted to go to the best. We chose Elements. At the end of the first course, the verdict was: "I think this is the best tuna tartare I have ever had." At the end of the meal, over coffee, the verdict was similarly stated, "This is one of the best meals I have ever eaten." Scott, thank you for making this gift such a success. Indeed, you are the "best."
