Sadly pretty disappointing for such a historical hotel, with such a good reputation. The new renovation was nothing to be desired.

Server was good, food was ok, but there was a big dog in the dining room with one of the patrons. That felt icky and not sanitary for such a nice establishment. Not sure if the dog was a service dog cause there was no indication but the dog was big and hairy and I didn’t not feel that was appropriate for a dining establishment.

It was a terrible experience as we arrived at 11 am for our confirmed reservation and was told that Ellyington's was CLOSED. When we told the host that we had confirmed reservations, he said his manager told him to close the restaurant and that all tables were filled and there was no room for our family to have brunch. We went to the front desk of the Brown Palace and asked to speak to the manager of the hotel and were told to wait and he would attend us. Manager never came but , after waiting, we were told they would make room for us at the Ship's Tavern for lunch. I said if I wanted lunch at the Ship's Tavern, I would have made reservations for the Ship's Tavern and asked to have the manager call me to explain what happened. Manager never called. What happened to the quality of service at the Brown Palace and Ellyington's. So disappointed. Hope someone will buy that elegant hotel and restore it to its historic elegance. Will not be returning to the Brown until its under new management

Host was rude , we waited 2 hours for our food and when the waiter decided for the wait he was going to give us free champagne to the table to guests that were sober in which he didn’t even ask the bathrooms were out of order coffee cold and they didn’t serve us all at one time they brought out random plates , gave me a incorrect order from all American to biscuit and gravy and they don’t even greet or say bye to you, dads been going there for 20 years and this was our last year going we decided to try the broadmore next year since there is no buffet and it lacks everything it was

Avoid. Service was horrible, super Slow and food was cold. The Brown Palace and its restaurant have really gone down hill. Definitely a lot of better options for food in the area.
