Born from a passion for authentic, honest cuisine, Embankment Kitchen embarked on a journey to really feed people. Rooted in the warm spirit of Northern hospitality, this is a neighbourhood kitchen where you can eat, drink, unwind, and truly feel at home. We believe in the power of good, solid, recognisable dishes and fresh, seasonal ingredients. Each dish is crafted with precision and a touch of refined elegance and always prepared from scratch, in-house. If it isn’t already obvious, we love what do, and we work hard to curate a menu of classics that have the power to make you want to order everything. Our laid-back space invited diners to share moments and create memories over plates of food designed to hit the spot, and celebrate the extraordinary found in the ordinary, one plate at a time.

Had a lovely meal this evening prior to visiting the Arena to watch Peter Kay. Happy hour made the drinks reasonable. Excellent cocktails. Food fabulous and service. Had the festive menu and great value. Husband had beef and I had the fish both had crumble and custard for pudding. All lovely. Thanks.

Service staff seemed disjointed and slow to take orders. There was a long wait to be seated despite a booking. Greater priority needs to be given to hotel guests

I booked to have a meal here for my birthday. We ordered from the festive menu, we all ended up having the beef, after being told that there was no more salmon linguine. The food arrived cold, and inedible. The Yorkshire pudding were more like huge burnt crisps. The carrots were cold, so much so we couldn’t eat it. I spoke to the manager, who apologised, and then tried to order a pizza instead, but was told that there wasn’t any dough left, I then asked for fish and chips, which was burnt, I then chose to do without, because by this time we was feed up. The manager then sent for some complimentary Prosecco to come to the table, but just to top everything off, the waitress accidentally spilt 2 glasses all over my friend dress. The manager did redeem the restaurant by being very apologetic, and by saying that we didn’t have to pay for the meal, as well offering us a bottle of Prosecco. I don’t actually blame the manager, as she was very apologetic and the waitress/waiter were nice, I think the disappointment is to the chef.

We had a booking on A Sunday for brunch and got turned away because according to the FOH you have to be staying at City Suites to eat there. If this is the case then they need to not allow bookings from "outsiders". If it is not a proper restaurant then that needs to be clear. We had one message back from someone offering a discounted meal this week but we can't make it this week and haven't heard back since. Quite disappointing all around.

Restaurant quality food, table service from friendly smiling staff and comfy seating was very welcome, and unexpected from a city overnight. The overall ambience was calm and relaxing and far better than many hotel breakfast services we have experienced.

The food was excellent, so I would recommend it to friends. But it was a pity that there was no draft beers or cider. Also there was no vinegar which was requested.

Whilst a pleasant ambience the overall experience was lacking. My food was incomplete (items missing from the plate) and my friends food was too spicy despite seeking advice from the waiter. Yes we were asked if our food was ok, but this was just after it was served to us and no one came back to us thereafter. A bit more proactivity would not go amiss whilst remaining respectful…
