   Had a wonderful experience at Estelle’s! I met two good friends for lunch, and we enjoyed delicious food, cocktails and great service. The duck confit was absolutely delicious. It is a dish you think about afterward for days. I highly recommend Estelle’s!

   Estelle’s is simply great. The food is creative and never fails to impress. The cocktails are simply brilliant. The staff at Estelle’s are friendly, knowledgeable and work as a great team. The size, informality and sense of casual elegance is very appealing. Estelle’s has become our favorite restaurant to take friends to who visit us from out of town and is always a wonderful treat for us too. Nadine, who has been our server the last few times we’ve been there, is outstanding. She a charming and gracious woman who truly enhances the experience of dining. Not to mention her depth of knowledge and experience. Gray, at the bar, is an performer as well as a talented mixologist. The menu at Estelle’s is small, but each dish is so well done and distinctive it is very hard to have a favorite! A new-to-us dish that wowed us on our most recent visit was the ‘chicken liver mousse coastal huckleberry & chive with sunflower sourdough’ omg! We’ll be back soon again and highly recommend it.

   Painfully noisy. Loud table next to us & music & bartending shaking drinks nearby. Cacaphony. Conversation with our friends practically impossible. Food disappointing: salad drenched in too much dressing; steak frites overcooked.

   Food was great (crudo, scallops, steak frites, chicken liver mousse, duck confit and a burger). Cocktails were fantastic, but more wine choices would have been nice. Admittedly Iwas visibly annoyed and frustrated at the end with the delay in our desert, but it was not the server’s fault. She was alone and running the entire room including playing hostess. Granted, it’s Halloween and a Thursday night. I will give it another go for sure.

   The scallop dish was overcooked and frankly just tasteless. My husbands duck was dry and a tiny portion. Good wine, good cocktails. The rest was really mediocre which is such a bummer. We go to Estelle regularly and every time they change the menu it seems like it goes down hill for awhile.

   The food overall was very good. Service felt rushed--we were served our salad with our cocktails and never felt we had much time to relax and really enjoy the evening. There was only one desert offered which feels lazy. We had a gift certificate to use so no harm done but may not come back on our own dime.

   Food was phenomenal - definitely on par or better than really fine food I've eaten in outstanding gourmet restaurants in New York, Geneva, Milan, Venice, Berlin, and New Orleans. The service by Julia was flawless- her constant attentiveness to our needs and warm personality made for a really enjoyable dining experience . The duck confit, frites, and braised leeks with macadamia nuts were all superb.

    Underwhelming. Limited menu and very limited wine list, though choices are good. Steak 'tartare' is seasoned hamburger meat spread on a brioche type toast. Tuna crudo was the best appetizer. Leek appetizer used either too - old leeks or should have removed the tough stringy outer leaves. Needed a side of dental floss after eating. Duck confit was dry and stringy. Good crust/ skin, but should have been cooked longer. Scallop dish was overwhelmed by its sauce. Restaurants was very loud- seats are spaced too far apart at tables and booth and people are yelling to be heard by their dinnermates at the same table, elevating the volume in the whole place. If this is the best French inspired " bistro " fare in Bellingham, more people, including the chefs, should trek up to Vancouver to see how it's done properly. Pretty low value for a lot of money.
