   We’ve spent several Mother’s Days at Fairmont Del Mar and always looked forward to the stunning setting, great service, and exceptional food. Sadly, this year was not even close to expectations. The food was good, but not impressive—certainly not worth the $200 per person price tag. The floral decor, which has been a standout in the past, was minimal and felt cheap. The centerpieces looked like something from a dollar store, not the luxurious arrangements we’re used to seeing here. Even worse, there was no valet service this year—guests were being picked up by golf cart. For a resort of this caliber, this just added to the overall disappointment. It felt like a step down in every way. I will not be returning next year and recommend others consider alternative options that offer more value and care.

   Love Fairmont hotels but $195 per person and then an automatic 25% gratuity plus tax was far too much to pay for the quality. If I am going to pay nearly $800, the food should be A++. Unfortunately, it was a B at best.

   The setup was great- not all tables filled at different times allowed for a more relaxed environment. There was no rush to have us depart after finishing our meal. Food was terrific, and service was very friendly and attentive. The $260 per plate makes this a one time event but worth it on that basis.

   Excellent and friendly service, excellent tea and well- prepared food. The view was beautiful and the harpist set a nice scene. I’ve been to several afternoon teas in other US cities and this was the first that rose to the expected level of service and food quality that I’ve experienced in San Diego. While on the pricier side (especially the champagne markup), it is on par with afternoon tea at other luxury properties in big cities. A lovely treat and lovely afternoon gathering with friends. ( The scones were fantastic!). We will be back.

   The tea service was incredible! It was definitely a splurge but sooo worth it. We took my dad here to celebrate his retirement and a good time was had by all! The harpist was incredible as were all the servers that waited on us. Big shout out to Andrea; she was soo lovely! Thank you 💗💗

   We had lots of fun . We even headed over to the bar and that’s where the fun continued with speciality drinks. Rusty is an amazing bar tender.

    Celebrated my friend's retirement with Afternoon Tea. We had the best table in the house by the fireplace and piano. And fortuitous that the pianist played my friend's favorite classical pieces. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food and tea were fantastic. It was the perfect afternoon to celebrate my friend.
