I've eaten at Goldfinch Tavern many times and have been pleased. I tried their Easter Buffet this year which was held in the Four Seasons Ballroom. As always, service was exceptional. The food, even though it was buffet style, was good. I just believe for the price ($155/person plus drinks, tip, service charge which worked out to be approximately $250/person when all done ) there would have been made to order stations. For example, made to order eggs, eggs benedict, waffles, pasta, omelettes, etc. They did have some hot stations where one could choose between two pre-cooked pastas; scrambled eggs (no bacon, no waffles) but they did have sausage; and a beef station (but unable to cook meat above a medium rare so if you like your meat more well done you were out of luck). it's only my opinion, but I believe the meal fell below what one would expect from the Four Seasons and/or Goldfinch Tavern.

This was our second holiday brunch at the four seasons and the food was top notch, as was the service. However the ballroom location really lacked the sort of ambiance that you’d expect for a holiday brunch at this price point. It really belonged downstairs at Goldfinch.

This is for Thanksgiving buffet in ballroom dining room. Turkey breast was brined and moist, although the brining imparted a texture different from typical and a bit too salty. Dark meat was served off the the bone like pulled meat. Other proteins were more successful: ham, prime rib, lamb. Stuffing was flavorful and slightly sweet. Alaskan crab legs and large shrimp were top notch. Cheese and cured meats also good quality. Overall, we would have preferred whole carved turkey for T-day. Service was top notch as should be at the FS. Desserts were varied and of good variety.

The only problem was that Open Table did not show the different dining option available. It just said thanksgiving dinner at the four seasons. We had dinner there last year, but I called the restaurant, and it was all 5 Star. This year, we had dinner in a ballroom and it was a buffet. It would be great for large groups or families with small kids. But it’s not as nice as sitting in the main restaurant with the set menu. Nothing against the four seasons, but now that I know, I will call the hotel and will not use Opentable, unless they show all the options. Overall it was disappointing.

It's probably a little more expensive than it should be, but at the end of the day, it's fantastic food and a great experience. We probably wouldn't come back every year, but it's certainly something we will do again.
