My family dined at Federal American Grill for Father’s Day and was excited to try the experience, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The restaurant offered a pre-fixe menu, and while the value was fair, the entrees I selected—avocado toast and chicken fried steak—were not enjoyable. I had hoped to choose from the regular menu, which wasn’t available due to the holiday setup. There was inconsistency in the food: several people in my party ordered the same dish (chicken & waffles), yet each plate looked and tasted different. The crab cakes and biscuits & gravy were a hit. Our server was initially helpful and knowledgeable about the menu but disappeared for a considerable amount of time, leaving us to flag down other staff for items we needed. With gratuity automatically included, the level of service did not reflect the tip added to our bill. On a positive note, the ambiance was lovely—great lighting, a well-designed bar area, and not overly noisy, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. The mimosas were a highlight. I truly wanted this first visit to be memorable for all the right reasons, but the inconsistent food and spotty service left me disappointed.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience—the food was beyond amazing! Every dish was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We had a great experience celebrating our daughter’s 13th birthday here! Our server was super thoughtful—he made sure we got our drink orders in just before happy hour ended. The food and drinks were delicious, the ambiance was perfect, and the hostess kindly kept the door open for us as it rained during our arrival. They handled our party of 10 seamlessly, and dessert plus the birthday song made the night extra special. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!
