Built in 1927, Fig313 stands today as an original historical landmark of San Clemente, with a history that is meant to be shared with its seaside community. Carefully constructed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style, distinctive design features include red-tile roofs, white stucco walls, hand-crafted windows and arches, painted tiles, and open-air courtyards.

Originally owned for the first 33 years by John and Jeanette Riley, 313 El Camino Real was renowned as Riley’s Waffle and Coffee Shop. Legend has it that actor John Wayne frequented the restaurant for a hearty American breakfast along with many travelers from all over the world. From 1960 on, Riley’s Café would change ownership many times, evolving into a furniture store, French restaurant, tequila company, and catering business. In 2012, the current owners purchased the property and began renovations and restoration, while staying true to the integrity of the original style.

My experience was wonderful as always. I Can’t find even one wrong thing in this place. Food consistent, good, flavorful. Filet soft, cooked to perfection. Service as always pleasant and attentive. Decor always amazes me. Prices are good on point.

Beautiful restaurant, amazing patio. Good food and service. Well prices or actually on at lower price point for food quality and presentation. You can see that each meal is worked on and plated with attention to detail, and not just dumped on the plate. I noticed each of our meals included expensive, quality items. My friend had sea-bass- beautiful Chilean sea-bass, perfectly cooked and served broth perfect for dipping - so we order side of sliced bread. If you going to order the fish, definitely order side of bread, you will love it. Price on point , maybe even under, I would expect to pay bit more for that dish. My dish for example, Beef Bouginion , had prime meat pieces and variety of expensive mushrooms like trumpets for example, etc… As for cocktails, they ware great, specially fig old fashioned (they fig infuse their whiskey). Come in weekday as it will be less crowded and you get to choose your table. Fig is definitely best place in town or out of many cities around. We will be back for sure and soon!

Fantastic place- incredible food, lovely atmosphere. Wonderful attentive service. It was my birthday and I had a wonderful time. Mike, our server was great. The menu was so tasty- all my favorites- octopus starter and scallop entree- my husband enjoyed his Cesar salad and fillet mignon. Such a lovely setting! It was truly memorable! Thank you- highly recommend!!

This may be our favorite spot. The goat cheese fondue is an appetizer not to be missed. Can’t pick a favorite entree because so many are so good, and the specials are our choose half the time. Wine list is not long but covers something for everyone.

Great service! Quiet and quaint sitting outdoors. We do a lot of dinners in San Clemente as a half-way point and this will be our new favorite!

A good but I unfortunately way overpriced bistro like restaurant in San Clemente. The food was not remarkable though others apparently disagree. The prices were: $12 for bread; $54 for pasta; $16 for dessert. Go if this is your sort of thing.

We waited about 10 after being seated for our server to take our drink order. My $59 filet was literally one of the worst filets I’ve had and I couldn’t even get myself to eat the second half, it was so tough and flavorless. The server did not check back on us during our meal so I did not have the chance to provide feedback until he came to retrieve the plates. When he inquired if I wanted to take the other half of the filet home I said no because the filet I did not enjoy it he seemed unconcerned about my feedback. We used to really like Fig 313 but I think the good quality has gone down but their prices continue to increase. I don’t mind paying a premium for a premium cut, but wished I had spent my $59 at Rare Society instead for a premium cut, tender filet.
