   Food was very good. We ordered tapas style and portions were actually pretty large. Sharing 3 “small plates” and one main was too much for two people. Spirits list was good. Noise level was high and the DJ confuses what they are trying to achieve. I like EDM and house music but they could do without the DJ here and invest in some noise reducing fabric/material. Service was just okay. Not horrible but level of attention could have been better. We would go back.

   My husband and I dined at First Born on Fri., Dec. 13. It's a beautiful restaurant. Very sophisticated looking. My husband asked to have some cabernet wine. The one he chose; they said they don't have it. He asked about the other cabernet but they had only one other one, however my husband said he'll just have beer. We both had Truffle Fries. They were delicious. We also liked our entree that came with rice. The staff made sure that we were enjoying the food. RESTAURANT'S that have a variety of liquor are restaurants that know liquor brings in revenue!

   The weekend / holiday vibe is great! Owner will come to you and chat friendly! The Christmas decorations are also good, live DJ is a bonus. Food is good, a little bit pricier than you expected for steak / pawns ($50-70 range for a main course), Vietnamese Fusion. Service can be improved to match the vibe and price. Default tips suggestion is from 20%, FYI. Overall, it’s a nice place to dine and we will try their brunch the other day. Recommend to experience.

   Great remodel of the Blue Line space: very modern with a loud DJ dance vibe on the Friday night my friend & I went. The 3 “tapa” plates we had were tasty. We didn’t feel up to paying $18-$25 for a dessert to share.

   Great vibe. The Bay needs more places like this where you should keep your Patagonia and On sneakers at home and actually wear something you don’t wear while working at home…

   Rice bites and Golden Mountain were absolutely deliciously amazing. Service was outstanding! Great recommendations and drinks too! Would definitely go back!

   We generally enjoyed our first visit to First Born; the room has been nicely updated and the place has a youthful, high energy vibe. If we had a couple of constructive suggestions, they would be (1) dial back the salt a little bit and (2) try to space out the courses a bit more. Pretty much everything we ordered except the spring rolls was on the salty side (especially the wilted spinach under the salmon in the Underbelly dish), which distracts from the generally well-prepared and creative food on the menu. Also, we ordered three starters to try (the sauteed green beans, the ahi served on rice crackers, and the surf-and-turf spring rolls) and two mains (the Underbelly and the Golden Mountain); the three starters came out quickly, but they were followed almost immediately by both main courses. It was like the kitchen was trying to set a speed record -- we were barely halfway through our starters when the mains came out. I know the menu says that dishes will come out from the kitchen as they are ready (and our server reminded us of that), but we would have appreciated having enough time to finish the starters before the mains arrived so they would be fresh and hot when we sampled them. All that said, we did enjoy our meal and the atmosphere in the restaurant and we'll likely be back at some point.
