The Restaurant pretended not to know anything about my reservation made via OpenTable. Shameful behaviour on the part of OpenTable amounting to fraud and scandalous approach by InterContinental Sofia (Floret Restaurant) of not taking any action to prevent such fraund happening and not taking any responsibility for it.

You must speak with restaurant, they don’t have your reservation, and they said to me that your app doesn’t run with the restaurant. At the end I had dinner at the bar. Very sad, because It was the new year’s eve

There was no booking. I booked from Open Table but they didn't get the reservation because they cancelled their account from Open Table, but Open Table has never cancelled the Floret from their restaurants' list. It was particularly a bad experience because it was NYE! I hope to help other travellers with this review.

RESERVATIONS FOR THIS RESTAURANT AREN'T ACCEPTED FROM OPEN TABLE. I booked a table at Floret restaurant in the Intercontinental Hotel in Sofia for New Years Eve 2023/4. The maitre d' was incredibly rude and made us wait 10 minutes at the entrance, clearly ignoring us while he chatted to the serving staff. When he finally spoke to us he informed us our reservation was not valid because we booked via Open Table. He explained that even though Floret is advertised on Open Table with recent customer reviews, these reservations aren't logged anywhere. Needless to say this completely ruined our New Years Eve. Given Sofia is quite a small city, there were limited dining options and in the end we abandonned celebrations and returned to our hotel. Indeed the couple behind us, also booked via Open Table and had their night ruined as well. Looking at Open Table, new reservations are still being taken. Wil these all be refused as welll? These things do happen but I was really surprised about how this was dealt with. The maitre d' seemed bemused by the situation and wholly unsympathetic. We had travelled to the venue and had based our new years plans around the meal, surely they could have accommodated a party of two? He could have set up another table for us or sat us somewhere else in the hotel. He could have offered us a complimentary drink as a good will gesture, perhaps. Floret is supposed to be a high class venue but their customer service didn't reflect this (or even that of a Pizza Hut to be honest) . Also, I have serious questions about Open Table and how something like this could happen. Are they seriously taking reservations on behalf of restaurants they don't represent? Having been burned this time, I won't be using Open Table again. In future, I will be booking directly with a venue. This is a shame given the app is convenient but if it is unreliable then it is utterly redundant.

Dress up or they’ll think your poor and respect you less. Once you order a large amount of food they’ll Know who the daddy is though. Bulgaria is cheap
