I should have known better than to come back, but my daughter wanted schnitzel so we went. First of all, the portions are embarrassingly huge. My 10-year old and I shared a single meal and didn’t even eat half of the food. Such an awful waste of food. Secondly, it tasted horrible. Overly salty and artificial tasting. Frozen schnitzel from Aldi is far better and the späztle was unrecognizable if you’ve ever had the real thing. Oh, and the cranberry relish (salad?) was literally frozen. Pretty sure almost everything was cooked from frozen and not actually freshly made. Never again. Ever. Service was excellent though.

We made reservations well ahead of time. We got seated as soon as we checked in. Our server was very respectful and quick. We had our drinks in a timely manner. The food was also served very quickly. We'll go back again the next time we're in town.

The reservation process was very easy to work with. The service team, again very easy to work with, very nice people. The food was mediocre at best. My family and I each chose to do the family style dinner. The food that came out was lacking in flavor. We thought maybe we just didn't care for the sides, then the main course came out and we were equally dissatisfied. The gravy didn't have much flavor, the dressing wasn't cooked (more like a bread pudding or soup) the mash potatoes ended up having some strange BLACK almond shaped thing in them (we don't know what it was and broke it apart to see, it was gross). The chicken (The star of the show) was cooked well, but there wasn't any flavor. The breading was super thin and had no seasoning associated with it. We had to sprinkle the chicken flavoring seasoning that was provided at the table to get any real flavor out of the food. All in all the people were great, the food wasn't. In my opinion for $30.00+ per person the food should be match the price point, it didn't even come close. The staff did comp our meal, we really didn't touch much, so that was very much appreciated. They were very understanding.

Large table of folks was very oud. Noodle soup tasted like Top Ramen. Had to pay extra for dishes like German potato salad, Spaetzle, and Red Cabbage. Kasler Rippken was thin, Weinerschnitzel was crumbly like overcooked cube steak. Stollen had neon blue bits in it. Not sure what it was because I wouldn’t try it. Entrees came with potato puffs. And, dessert was ice cream, sherbet or a twist. Not really the German experience I was hoping for. Felt it was overpriced. Bright spot was our wonderful waitress Braelynn.

White fish came out with a bug on it! Waitress looked at , did not say a word, picked it up and said be right back. Not even an apology, nothing. Meanwhile, the rest ate our food almost finished, when she brought out a new fish. Daughter said did not taste good. Ate a few bites. I said let me say something, No she said, I already sent the first one back! I paid and left!!!

We like to get family together and eat at The Bavarian Inn. The bake goods downstairs are wonderful and then we dine in the restaurant. The family style meal was great. The chicken was wonderful and we added the schnitzel. That was wonderful too. My sister from Grayling and my sister from California came with her son. My wife’s sister and her husband attended also. Great place for larger groups. Everyone bragged about how delicious the food was. We make a reservation each year and get a table almost immediately. Never have to wait. The service was wonderful and the young lady had the cutest German outfit. Mike P
