   We came with two toddlers for the Le Petit Gourmet’s tea, an experience advertised to be kid-friendly. It was anything but. The service was so poor, not at all aware of what a kid-friendly service should be. It was quiet when we came in, but the server still took over 20 minutes before taking our order. We had to ask for the kid’s tea set to come quickly because they were hungry. The server took a long time to explain each tea and snack, which I can appreciate is part of the high tea experience but absolutely not good for two toddlers staring hungrily at the food. The server then took multiple occasions to discipline our daughters, even though all they were doing was crawling under the tea or leaning over the bench to look out the window. They weren’t disrupting anyone else. The server was also trying to tell our daughters to go wander around the restaurant to find the elf on the shelf - not an appropriate activity for 3 year olds. I’m sure it was a nice activity for older children, but the last thing anyone needs is toddlers running around looking for an elf. The tea was fine, but the sweet to savoury ratio was completely off especially for the kid’s tea. It had 2 small ham sandwiches and 5 full size sweets (cookies, brownies, donuts). The whole experience was pretty and well intentioned, but so out of touch with what’s actually family friendly dining. Other locations such as the Old Mill and the Dorset have far better upscale kid-friendly dining experience.

   Food was good. Service started off good but then we got forgotten. Ambiance would be better if the restaurant was closed off from main lobby. Felt like we were eating in a lobby hotel restaurant.

   The atmosphere felt like a spacious hotel lobby restaurant. We sat at a table for four, though the bar looked like a great spot for an evening drink. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Our server was attentive and ensured everything was perfect. The highlight was the low noise level during lunch—a rare find in the financial district, where most restaurants are far too loud. Overall, it’s a fantastic restaurant, and I’d definitely return.

   The service was super slow. I mentioned to the server that we were going to the ballet. This somehow made her go slower ??? The shrimp cocktail was expensive and the 3 shrimp we received were overcooked and tough (which should have been just kissed by the boiling water). The steak tartar had no flavour but the macaroni sure grating was delicious.

    We had the buffet breakfast which was very mediocre. Nothing exceptional. The service was terrible. Our waiter did not come once to clear the table . We had to move our dirty plates to the table next to us and they sat there for the entire time we were in the restaurant. We told the waiter that we wanted to order an omelette but we would first have some other dishes from the buffet. When we were finished and told the waiter we wanted to order our omelette’s he said the kitchen was closed. The breakfast had finished at 11:00. If I was in another restaurant I’m sure the waiter would have advised us that the breakfast ended at 11:00 and we would have to order before then. Would absolutely not recommend. Very disappointing.
