Amazing venue and our waitress was kind and polite. Food was small portions and very overpriced and sadly very below par. Deviled eggs were ok but covered in stringy watercress. Steak was cooked well but came the green paste on the steak that sadly ruined the steak. Restaurant was empty but no rice pudding as an option as run out. Really disappointed and was a special occasion.

Really good food in a very interesting place! Erotic photos in the hallway leads you to a few lounges that have a wide variety of curiosities: antelope heads on the walls, a stuffed brown bear, photos of famouses from the 60’s/70’s, toy trains, animal specimen last in jars & more! The garden room dining area has similar decor with large plants in planters on the tables & atmospheric lighting. The food was very good: well presented & service was good, too. The menu is a little limited, so check it out before you go! Not cheap with a cover charge per person, house wine at £10 a glass, minimum wine bottle price £54 & moderately priced dishes, so it can mount up to a fair amount. However, a great experience & recommended.

Such a weird place - food is included if you stay there, apart from a bottle of water for £3 and a weird £3 cover charge, drinks are ridiculously expensive. Food was ok, service adequate but not too friendly. It’s a strange business model.

Dining at The Garden Room by Marco Pierre White near Bath is an experience in culinary elegance, combining unique charm with a refined touch that’s uniquely Marco’s. Nestled in the picturesque countryside, the setting itself is a feast for the senses, with views of lush greenery that instantly set a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. From the moment you enter, the service is impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, every member of the staff knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu. The ambiance is intimate, with tasteful decor that reflects the unique and eccentric taste of its legendary owner. The menu is classic dishes elevated to new heights. Start with the ham hocke which is beautifully plated and rich in flavor. The star of the meal is undoubtedly the fillet with chimichurri sauce. Cooked to absolute perfection, it arrives tender, flavorful, and just melts in your mouth, it’s a dish that embodies his dedication to quality and technique. Desserts don’t disappoint either. The rice pudding is a must-try—a perfect balance of sweetness and depth, with a rich sauce and velvety texture that feels both indulgent and comforting. Every course at The Garden Room feels thoughtfully crafted, blending indulgence with simplicity. It’s a celebration of local flavors and refined skill, all in a tranquil setting that invites you to savor each bite. We was surprised that a small glass of juice was £5 each, we was asked what we wanted to drink before we had the chance to look at the menu, but I think that was due to only one person serving breakfast, other than that the breakfast was enjoyable.

Don't bother!!, waiter told us the printer wasn't working to print the menu, so proceeded to tell us 3 dishes to which we picked 2, to later find out they had a surcharge as well as other surcharges we hadn't been told before we ordered, When we received the bill they had charged us for 2 other drinks costing £30 and another item we didnt have, After speaking to other diners the next day ( at the hotel) they were also over charged and had an awful experience, I won't go into the rest of the stay I will save that for TripAdvisor

Was kept waiting for 30 minutes for a pre booked table so went into the bar for a drink with my wife. Had to have lager as you had run out of IPA - I found this amazing as it was 8.30 on a Saturday night. That meant my only choice of beverage was lager. No ale, no bitter, no IPA, no Pilsner which was very poor. When we finally got to our table i explained to one waiter that my wife was veggie but doesnt like the only veggie option of gnocci. He said the chef would make a macaroni for my wife instead only to be contradicted by another chef who said gnocci was her only option. I explained that we’d been offered macaroni but he said his colleague was ‘bar staff’ and should not have offered it and a disagreement ensued between the two of them. There was no flexibility with the waiter or chef so in the end my wife settled for two side dishes of potato and beans - not exactly what she was expecting for her birthday meal!! Very disappointing

We stayed at the Rudloe for two nights, dining in the garden room on both evenings. The residents menu wasn’t extensive but every course served was delightful. The service was friendly and attentive and the chilled out vibe of the restaurant was such a lovely place to spend each evening. Such a cool spot for a weekend away or an evening out, will definitely be returning soon.
