An authentic, modern French brasserie in the heart of Toronto’s vibrant east end, Gare de l’Est was named after one of the oldest and largest train terminals in Paris, France. Just steps away from Crow’s Theatre, it offers an extensive menu of traditional French fare and seasonal dishes with a focus on local ingredients.

While the actual space doesn’t offer a means of transportation, its loft-like ceilings, deep hued banquettes and crisp white table clothes, will carry your imagination to whatever destination you desire.

Sunday brunch. The food was reasonably good. Some items were missing including drip coffee and oysters. The service was friendly. The ambiance was a bit noisy. Not an amazing place for brunch. Would not return

While visually appealing the pain perdu was remarkably average and at the price point this was really disappointing. I really didn’t see the value for the money spent. The server was inattentive which is surprising since most time the service is fantastic. Given the number of options around I don’t think I will be back for brunch.

Amazing food. Great cocktails. The garlic aioli and perfectly crisp shoe string fries were delightful. Will come back for brunch!

Everything was perfect, as usual. We've been dining here since the first week it opened. So many birthdays, brunches, pre-theatre dinners, girls' nights and more have been enjoyed here. Thank you for so many wonderful experiences. We're going to miss you so much!

Thursday was half price oysters night. Had half a dozen for $12 and they were very fresh. The cod main was excellent and perfectly cooked.
