Gather – casual fare, is a popular restaurant at Springwood on the Blue Mountains, a short drive up the hill from Penrith, known for creating consistently great food for lunch and dinner.

A menu of old favourites, including delicious Chicken Schnitzels, burgers, fish and steaks, have a home-style feel with familiar flavours.     Another great night out at Springwood Bowling Club. Our go to venue, on a cold night with a table not far from the Fire it was the perfect place to dine.

    The meal was delicious and my meal was pretty generous, but one male on our table ordered bangers and mash and it was just the two bangers with the mash which we thought could have been three sausages, but he enjoyed what he had. They were short staffed in the kitchen but we were not kept waiting for our meal, which arrived hot and appetising. No ice cream available to have with deserts, and we dined early so they must have run out before dinner service. Certainly a nice meal and no real complaints here.

    This is usually our go--to place for a family meal. However, even though I booked the day before, and there were several other very large groups which must have had bookings, the staffing level did not appear to have been managed very well at all this time. We had to wait about 15 minutes to order and 40 mins for our food (we were advised it would be up to an hour when ordering). If you take bookings in advance please make sure that you have enough staff to cope or close bookings at your normal capacity. We had a function to attend after and only just made it because of the delays. Having said that the food was terrific when it came!
