   The space is absolutely incredible. There is so much intentionality built in, and every last detail contributes to the 80's theme. I truly felt like i was transported when I walked through the front door. Expansive wine list with a bunch of accessibly priced options. Lots of local, but also lots of international gems. The food was all completely on point with very reasonable portions. Highlights were the bread service, popcorn mussels and clams, and the Sunday Roast dinner. Flawless service with just enough touch points. We will DEFINITELY be back to try more of the menu. Great job team, keep it up!

   Overall, my family and I had an excellent time. My wife and I go on Fridate Night's every single Friday of the week for many years. So, we know the difference between good, very good and excellent.

   This was our second time at General Public. Everything about this restaurant is top notch. What we ordered, Shrimp cocktail - classic, shrimp cooked perfectly Kampachi crudo - very crisp and clean dish, seasoned well, IMO could use a touch more acidity Fried clams and mussels - unreal, a must order Halibut - this is probably the best halibut I’ve ever had. An absolute masterclass in how to cook this fish Pork chop - flavourful, cooked perfectly, tender and moist English chips - so good, we ordered a second plate Creme caramel - so rich and delicious, ate more like a cheesecake English pudding - beautiful airy cake with citrus notes Only negative note would be about the 2 person booths on the main floor. We were originally seated there but the seat back and table were far too close together so I couldn’t fit. I understand I am not an average size human but I am also not obese. They accommodated us at a different table. Was a bit of an embarrassing situation that I hope others don’t go through. Overall, a fantastic experience. Neal fantastic on the floor and a pleasure speaking with. We will be back again, and again, and again. Keep up the great work!

   We overall had a great experience except the man out front was quite rude. Specifically he had nailpolish and a bowl cut

   The decor is beautiful. We sat up at the counter giving a great view of the space. Food and service were spot on. Kaitlyn was excellent!

   Our server Sophia was so fun and had great recommendations! The decor/vibes were obviously amazing as well. We really enjoyed the unique menu, especially the bubbles and a bump! Great and accessible way to try caviar, and the champagne pairing was literally perfect. Our mains were a little cold but still warm. Definitely want to come back and try the lunch!

   Absolutely amazing experience! Despite being packed, the service was amazing. Food + ambience are incredible. 12/10 experience. Cant wait to go back.

   Sat at the bar and had an exceptional experience, had the popcorn clams and mussels, trout tartare, hamachi crudo, bluefin carpaccio , surf and turf , Nordic shrimp trifle, oyster rarebit and bubbles and a bump, cocktails and a bottle of wine. Everything was fantastic , great food, drinks, ambience and vibe. Grey gardens has always been a favourite so was looking forward to trying out GP and it didn’t disappoint !

   Have to say, the food and service were excellent. The sommelier helped us pick a great wine. I ordered the lamb tartare and the Surf & Turf, both were excellent. Had the butterscotch pudding for dessert and loved it. Also, the prices, while not cheap, were fair and reasonable IMO. Just two things, when you go, take cab or a rideshare as the parking around there is abysmal. The other, I describe myself as 'husky' and I had a hard time fitting in the booth . If you are plus sized, ask for a regular table with chairs.

    A very calm atmosphere despite the restaurant being oh so busy; the staff was pleasant, engaging and attentive. So impressive. The bread basket was exceptional, nowhere have we had a better bread, the variety of textures and flavours was so good. The staff answered our questions, the pastry on the delicious tongue and tail pie was beautiful and the server explained how it was done. We had no room for dessert but we will happily come back and next time leave room for sweets! A perfect night out!
