   WOW! I can’t say enough about our experience here. For our honeymoon we have been going to some of the best restaurants in each city we visit, and this place definitely stands out among the rest. The pasta, perfect. The filet, perfect. The wine (which came recommended for the pairing), perfect. The dessert, perfect. I wish I had gotten the name of our server, as he was very helpful with recommendations and was proud to serve us our food. He explained each dish, small details that would go unnoticed about everything, information about the chef, etc. Absolute perfection. When in Rome, you should make it a point to eat here.

   This review is for what you can expect on a Sunday midday—their price fixe brunch for €70, which is a poor value. There are no other options. Maybe the dinner is good, but the atmosphere is sterile, so I would rather eat at any of the hundreds of lively trattorias everywhere else in Rome, any of which had comparable pasta. The only satisfying feeling I got was that I can throw away €140 on a mediocre brunch and not get angry about it. But nobody should waste their money on this brunch, in my opinion. The restaurant is in the W Hotel. We had bags. Hotel service was silly, restaurant service was good: Hotel front desk sent us to the restaurant, who had us carry our bags to the table, then waitstaff kindly carried it back to the hotel front desk. The brunch was a poor value. For €70, you get a selection of lukewarm meatballs, cold focaccia, and small amounts of numerous other items sitting out on the bar all day. You get a Negroni (which was actually good). You get 2 adequate servings of pasta—a risotto and another dish with mussels the day I went. I think you get a dessert, too, but we did not stay for it. When brunch is being served, you cannot get regular menu items. None of the food was noteworthy or memorable, except the Negroni, which was better than average. The waitstaff was incomprehensible—we didn’t get dessert b/c we didn’t understand what our server grumbled about it in English. I expected better from the W brand. So meh food, incomprehensible wait staff and kind host & busboys do not make good experience. I did not get the sense that this restaurant has anything to offer that I could not find would be better at hundreds of places around Rome.

   Had a very nice welcome; food was excellent. The only disappointment was the affogato desert. Would definitely go back if we were staying longer in Rome. Service was great!

   The quality of food at Giano was superb. I had the selection of Mediterranean raw seafood for my antipasti, the squash pasta for my primi, the Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna for my secondi, and the Cannoli for dessert. All were made with fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. OUr server took the time to explain every dish, make suggestions, and his suggestions for wine pairings were spot on. The courtyard where the ate outside is gorgeous, and with heat lamps warm enough even in November. I highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly return.
