About this restaurant

  • Great for scenic views
  • Good for special occasions
  • Fancy
Approachable sophisticated Pacific Northwest cuisine, simply prepared using the finest regional ingredients and served in a dining room with maritime-inspired design and sweeping views of Elliott Bay.

Goldfinch Tavern is a collaboration between Ethan Stowell and Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Named for the state bird of Washington, the American Goldfinch.

The upscale tavern pays homage to the city’s pioneer days, when taverns catered to lumberjacks and sailors alike, providing a place for travelers and locals to both socialize and conduct business, all while enjoying drinks and food.

Excellent food and service! Everything is prepared so well - really delicious food. Staff is friendly and professional - clearly working to ensure all guests have a good experience. Vibrant ambiance without making noise level difficult for conversation. A little pricey for some, but a great splurge night if you’re downtown.

I generally like Ethan Stowell's restaurants, but not this one. It's an attractive setting with attentive service, but the food was average at best and quite expensive. There are many better options nearby.

The service at Goldfinch is wonderful! The food is subpar honestly. It was really nice to have vegan and gluten free options and the kitchen is very flexible with dietary restrictions but the flavor profiles were basic and unsurprising in all of our dishes.

Lovely lunch with excellent service. Note that a 25% gratuity was added to the ticket before running the card, so any gratuity added later is on top.

The Eggs Benedict, ambiance & service were so wonderful when I got to Seattle, I had to visit once more before flying out! This visit did not disappoint—great food, and outstanding, friendly service!

Just not worth it at all- this place tries to be something it isn’t. Service was fine but food is where this restaurant lacks.

Food perfect; service exceptional; ambience annoying. We arrived for our 5:00 reservation and were seated at a lovely table in an upscale dining room. Ten minutes later, havoc ensued. Enter a family of five: Two parents that never looked up from their phones, a blissfully quiet young teenager and two young children who talked nonstop in outside voices and ran around the dining room like they owned it. To be clear, we are not crotchety old people who dislike children. We have five grandkids and understand the challenges of parenting. But please don’t bring your kids to an inappropriate restaurant for children and leave your parenting at the door with seemingly no regard for other diners who are attempting to enjoy their $300 dinner in a nice environment! I should add that we’ve been to this restaurant many times and this was an isolated experience. We love the food, and our server, Milli, was the epitome of perfection. Don’t stay away; consider doing what we will next time. Ask to be seated in an adult-only section.

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast/brunch when visiting Seattle. The Eggs Benedict is very good. They also make very good espresso drinks. The view & ambiance are very relaxing, while the service is wonderful. The staff are very friendly, yet professional.
