   My husband and I visited Gordon Ramsey’s Resturant on Saturday, December 14th. We arrived early, but we were seated by our reservation time. We sat for almost 20 minutes before being recognized by a server and brought water 15 minutes later. Finally, our server asked to take our order but didn’t offer to to explain any of the specials or offer any suggestions. After taking our order, he returned about 10 minutes later to say “I want to double check that I have everything right. I pretended to have a pencil in my hand when I was writing and I’m afraid I might have messed up something”. After confirming our order, the young lady who brought us water stopped by the table to say “I’ll get you some bread as soon as I get caught up.” She then proceeded to set two tables near us to prepare for their next customers. While we didn’t see either of them for some time, we did see our server wipe his nose on the sleeve of his shirt at the wait staff area. Distrusting. We weren’t offered more water or more drinks until our food was delivered. Then, it was by one of the other servers who helped plate us. The female server that brought my food was very nice and explained everything on my plate and asked if I needed anything else. Our server reached across me to hand my husband his plate as he hastily scurried away. He had no communication with my husband at all. After spending over $400, I would have expected better service. The food was wonderful, but I’m not sure we will be returning.

   We went to Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse when it first opened, and our experience was phenomenal. We were so excited to be going back, but unfortunately the second time around was a bit of a disappointment. Everything started great. The hosts & servers know how to provide 5-star service. The ambiance is perfection. We got our drinks, placed our order, and soon we had the focaccia bread, with butter, that tasted like it was just out of the oven. Then we got our food. Last time they forgot my bearnaise, and they forgot it this time, too. No big deal. The potato puree was barely warm but it still tasted good. My husband had an American wagyu ribeye, and for the most part he enjoyed it with the chimichurri. It wasn’t hot, but it was warm enough to enjoy. The big issue was my prime filet, which was seasoned beautifully, a perfect medium rare, but it was cold. Now I’m a person who hates it when people say their food is cold, because usually they mean warm or room temperature, not fridge-temp. Well, this was colder than room temperature. Last time I had the filet, it was perfectly hot & it just melted in your mouth. This time, it was “solid” on the inside and rubbery on the outside. I eventually gave my husband a bite of mine & even though I had mentioned it was not at all warm, he was shocked how cold it was. It was like that all the way through, from the first bite to the last. Service was great until we got our food, after which we didn’t see anyone again until after we had eaten. So no, I didn’t have a chance to address the steak temp early on. It was still edible, but for this price I expected way better than what I could get at Outback. It was really disappointing that the meal didn’t live up to our first experience, because in our mind it was perfection. That perfection was missing tonight. I’m sure we’ll be back again at some point, but with more tempered enthusiasm.

   This is my fourth time eating at Gordon Ramsay’s at the Caesars southern Indiana casino. The service is always outstanding but the food always arrives lukewarm. The taste is OK it’s not memorable for the price that you pay.

   Steak and crab cake was to die for. Atmosphere was very nice and elegant. The potato purée was very runny. The waitress was very mono toned and sounded like a robot when giving her recommendation. I wouldn’t mind going again to try and get a different experience but I’ll have to convince my girl because of the price.

   We ate here for our anniversary, my 3rd time dining here, and it was perfect! All the staff wished us a Happy Anniversary upon entering & leaving, & we received a card with a picture of Gordon Ramsay on it. We initially wanted the meatballs as an appetizer, however they were unavailable so we chose the pork belly and it melted in our mouths. Of course we each ordered the Beef Wellington and it is always amazing. The button mushrooms as a side had a unique flavor that went well with the entree. They offered us a complimentary mascarpone cheesecake and we enjoyed every morsel. We had a 1/2 beef Wellington a piece and some mushrooms to take home, and they packed us fresh bread and butter, so we have more delicious food to savor at home. We would definitely celebrate our anniversary here again, along with any occasion!
