   I just had my 77th birthday and we drove 3 hours to dine at Gordon Ramsey steak house in Lake Charles. After being seated the server informed us that they had everything on the menu except shrimp, which my wife was going to order. Well I had already viewed the menu online so I knew exactly what I wanted, Alaskan King Crab Legs. I tried to order but was informed that all the large meaty crab legs were unavailable. Really frustrated I decided to have lobster. You guessed it, only had small ones that were not that good cooked but eaten cold. So my wife and I split a beef Wellington and split a baked potato and got out of there. Gordon Ramsey, close that restaurant, it is not close to your standards.

   Our server Ted was excellent, my husband’s Beef Wellington was good. The crab on my seafood tower however was “fishy”, so I did not consume. My Lobster Bisque was “fishy” as well. Normally I would have said something but the wonderful service and environment made up. Our server was so well trained we wanted to hire him for our company. Will go back…..

   Dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse is always the highlight of our trip. The get dinner right on every level! It’s a treat.

   When a reservation is made a table should be available. A 15 minute wait would be acceptable but over 40 minutes is not. Did not offer any complimentary service for the wait. While waiting larger crowd arrived and seated themselves. Host went spoke with group but they became a little loud and were served ahead of me and 3 other parties that were patiently waiting for our reservation. Everything else about the restaurant was exceptional.

   Exceptional food! We ordered beef wellington, lobster risotto, American wagyu, the smothered baked potato, and crab cake. The wagyu and potato were our favorite. I don’t mind splurging on food like this ($$$) for special occasions, but this isn’t my norm. Because it was a special occasion I felt the food was worth the money spent.

   Staff was not very attentive to us. Did not offer us anything but water. Did not check in much. Had to ask for check. Good was delicious. Beautiful and tasty. Best steak I ever ate.

   2nd time there and it was amazing! I love that they remembered the allergies from the previous visit. Food is amazing 👏

    I had been waiting for this for my birthday for a long time. The lobster risotto was great the sticky toffee cake was great but the beef willington was not great, the pastry was soggy and the beef though well cooked was not flavorful. My son said his pork chop was ok nothing special. The waiter Ted was attentive. I watch all of Gordon Ramsey show all the time and finally had a chance to dine at one of his restaurant and was disappointed. Cheryl Collier-Rankin
