   We did the Mothers Day brunch today and it was super underwhelming for the price that was charged. We had done the brunch a couple of years ago and the selection we had today was nothing like it used to be. It seemed like the selections were limited and not a lot of options for kids to enjoy with their moms. For what the price was, it didn’t seem worth it. Our server tho, was amazing. I don’t think we would come back for brunch unless the price changed or the selections were expanded like they used to be.

   My family and I had a wonderful time. The food was great as always, but the service by Marlon really made Sunday great.

   Great food and selection. Friendly service! Move the omelet station away from the kitchen a few feet! Your arrangement caused a traffic jam! Who decided this? Bad idea! 🤡 Clown idea! People were bumping into each other and almost dropping food! Poor layout!

   The setup was not ideal for the amount of people that were there. The food was subpar, soda machine needed to be service because the carbonation was off. Server rarely came by to check and when she did she was in a hurry. Just felt like another number on a busy day.

   We usually go to brunch at the Legends location, but this Easter they only had bar seating left so we chose the Zona Rosa location. Although my reservation was for a table, we were seated at a tiny hightop that was shoved into a corner of the room - clearly temporary seating to accommodate holiday overload. The bar stools were backless saddle seats and rather wobbly and, since I was with my elderly mother, not very safe for her. I asked if there was another, safer, option, but was told that there was not. We walked past the bar area on our way to the buffet a couple of minutes later and I saw that there were 2 seats at the bar available, but I assumed that those were reserved for another party so I didn't mention it. As we returned from the buffet , another couple was being seated at the hightop behind us - they also asked if other seating was available and were promptly reseated in the bar area. I normally recommend GC'S brunch but it's apparently on a location-by-location basis. We'll stick to the Legends location from now on.

   Thought the waiters attitude was bad until I met the manager. Waiter ignored me for over 20 minutes even when hailed for his attention. He would turn and go to another table. Mangers attitude is “well he was busy and what do you want me to do about it?” Nothing we said was registering with him. We got up and left. Will never return to this location. This is not the first time we had subpar service but gave them multiple chances but it is clear the problem is with the management lack of customer service.

    We had “done brunch” at Granite City in the past … “in the past” being in terms of years … because our experience THEN was significantly different from our experience today. “Then” we saw no reason at all to return … now?? well, today we saw several reasons to return. Our service, from Audrey C, was spot on from when she cheerfully granted our request to move to a larger table (that booth really WAS sardine seating) to the way she was present and interested (without hovering) throughout our meal, to when - presenting our check - she told us that we had been “fun guests” with a genuine smile. The food was fine … it’s chafing dish brunch service … but it was well presented and included some “upscale” offerings that we didn’t expect. A manager, Franklyn, I believe, with whom we had visited before made it a point to stop by our table and welcome us back. Well Done, sir! … and Well Done all …
