   We had the Valentines Day dinner for 2 and it was delicious. The portion sizes were perfect. The noise levels were as expected for a fully packed restaurant while a live musician. Our server was attentive and made sure our drinks never ran out.

   Typical service for a busy Friday night on Valentine’s day. However, my chicken was hard as a rock it was very difficult to cut with my knife… They had a live performer which was good but would could barely hear each other it was so loud. The waitress was kind and busy.

   Great Valentines dinner, however from the time we walked in the customer service was non existent and our waiter ghosted us after he brought water to our table. We realize it was busy but never expected our 4:45pm reservation would keep us at the restaurant until 7:45 to finish our meal.

   When we received our food it was just warm. The pasta lifted up with a fork, the entire serving in one piece. It was very dry and the Alfredo sauce was like thick paste. Our server asked how our food was. I told him about the pasta and he asked what would make it better. I told him some additional Alfredo sauce. He went to the kitchen and proceeded to prepare a cup of sauce for me. It made a huge difference in the pasta and was very delicious. Our server went out of his way to correct the problem. It was his kind demeanor that made the evening enjoyable!

   If we didn’t stay laughing about the craziness of the situations we would have been angry. Our meal took over 2 hours of which most was sitting and waiting for subpar food. Out of ginger beer, out of steak knives (we had to share, that is unacceptable), steak served virtually RAW, 45 min to even order after we sat down. Other tables getting food before us even though they were seated after us. Definitely not one of Granite City’s shining moments. They should be ashamed of how the whole place was run that night. It will be awhile before we return, if ever.

   New Year’s Eve & busy. Had a reservation, got seated right away before others. Took 20 min for first drink. Everyone around us got their food, drinks and bill before we got our main meal 2hrs later. Boxed it up cause we were late for a friend’s party, reason we got the EARLY time to eat. No discount, nothing, just a simple “kitchen got backed up”.
