In the heart of the East Devon countryside, surrounded by acres of farmland, you'll find the award-winning Greendale Farm Shop and it's family-friendly café & restaurant. The Greendale Farm Shop Café and Restaurant is much loved by visitors and locals alike. We offer a new extensive menu, created around many of the items sold in our shop and showcasing local produce from our farm and fishing boats. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are no problem and we have a children's menu for the little ones, too. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as tea and coffee, delicious cakes and Devon cream teas.

Once you've eaten why not take a stroll along our family farm trail. The trails follow a level path that’s just right for pushchairs and little legs where you can say hello to all of the animals, including Oscar the Ostrich.

On Sunday and Monday evenings, from 3.30pm, our restaurant serves from our extensive fish and chip menu only.

    The child size lamb roast dinner was delicious apart from the lamb which was very greasy. The Salad Nicoise was poor. No potatoes, no tomatoes. The tuna ‘flakes’ were mashed into sliced red onion, not a flake in sight! The 2 halves of boiled egg were perfect. The olives were plentiful and the few green beans cooked perfectly if a little small. However the lemon dressing was non existent and everything completely overpowered but the sheer quantity of red onion!! On asking the waiter why there was no potatoes he reported he had to argue with the kitchen that they should have been included as the menu clearly stated. He kindly brought me a dish with some wedges of tomato and a couple of boiled potatoes chopped into small pieces. He also brought some lemon dressing. The outside seating area was extremely hot! It was a hot day, but none of the ceiling fans I spotted when leaving were working. The staff were so hot, it wasn’t fair on them. We eat here regularly and the prices have increased whilst the food quality has decreased. This was supposed to be a treat for my elderly mother, it was not! Very disappointed. I spoke to the person on the till, they were uninterested and just said thank you for letting me know.

    Very hot in the evenings when the suns out. Cools off later on, On a very hot day I would avoid until after 8. They do have Fans, but have to be in a very specific area to receive. Could do with some pull down awnings, and some better fans, especially if they had water vapour

    Always good food but the tables are quite small and if you’re sat next to a table with a self promoting loud speaking narcissist then the occasion is somewhat tainted.

    A regular visitor at Greendale but this visit was disappointing sadly. Toast brought out to the table in a lasagna style dish, not sure how we were supposed to put butter on the toast, had to go back to counter & request a plate, toast also overdone! My friend had poached eggs on toast & they looked like they were chucked on the plate & two of the eggs were over cooked & not runny. Big queue to pay afterwards too!

    We visited this restaurant after attending parkrun and, anticipating it might be busy, used OpenTable to reserve a table in advance. This turned out to be a wise decision, as most tables were occupied when we arrived. I would definitely recommend booking ahead if you plan to visit during peak times. Our group of three was promptly seated at a well-sized table, giving us plenty of space to enjoy our breakfast comfortably. The atmosphere was lively but not overcrowded, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. While the prices were slightly above average, the quality of the food more than justified the cost. Everything was served promptly and prepared to a high standard. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience with no complaints at all. I would happily return and recommend it to others looking for a quality breakfast spot with great service.

    Lovely atmosphere in the outside covered area. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We enjoy coming here with our parents
