About this restaurant

  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Great for brunch
  • Great for outdoor dining
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, noshes and cocktails. Located in the Hotel La Rose, Grossman's offers Mark Stark's inspired take on Jewish cuisine from the East Coast to Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Guests can enjoy the outdoor seating area, order at the deli counter, pick up a grab 'n go meal or baked goods like Bagels, Babka, Black & White Cookies, Rugelach, Challah and Rye Bread from the in-house bakery. Come in, call in, or order online for takeout. Lox, Corned Beef, Pastrami, Full Sour Pickles, Falafel and many other delicacies are made in house based on family recipes. We have a small retail area with Jewish specialty items like Halva, Matzoh Chips and Crackers and hard to find condiments.

Four of us arrived for lunch and were promptly seated outdoors as per our reservation. The staff was friendly and efficient and the environment was clean with tables well spaced. We ordered four different entrees and each person was happy with their choice. I had the fish and chips. The fish was fresh and flaky and the batter was crisp and non-greasy. My husband had the brisket which was tender and tasty. We ordered a side of latkes, and they were delicious. The outdoor seating was excellent--quiet with umbrella protection from the sun. As we passed through the indoor seating aea, we noticed the noise level indoors to be rather high, and we were happy we chose outdoor seating where we could converse quietly. We all enjoyed our experience and meals and will return to try other menu items.

My son and I ate outside under the heaters. It was very nice to be outside on a nice evening. Wait staff were all very nice and attentive. Food was great as always! It’s a favorite restaurant of ours and we’ll definitely be back again soon. Also, whiskey for breakfast is a great coffee cocktail!

Grossman’s is always a solid choice—consistently great food right in the heart of Railroad Square. The customer service is excellent, and the place is super welcoming for everyone. It’s family-friendly, and the pet-friendly patio is a huge plus. I had the Reuben with pastrami this time, and wow—so good. Definitely a must-try. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or your pup, Grossman’s delivers every time.

When we arrived at the reserved time there was no reserved table and we were moved to a different table within the first 3 minutes of sitting down. The noise level was extreme.

Lunch was wonderful as always and my friend from Marin were impressed. We did think it was very noisy inside and it was a little too cold for us outside. But it was fine after awhile and we enjoyed our meals.

Great food, service and lively atmosphere! My childhood friend and I met here for lunch on a Sunday. Fortunately, we made a reservation. We both agreed, the smoked Turkey sandwich on house made ciabatta roll was one of the best we had ever had. Make a reservation! Very busy and popular.

How anyone could not like Grossman’s is beyond me?! Outside is my favorite as it’s quieter yet inside is delicious not only because of the food but the ambience/and the WALLPAPER! Today after several years, I finally had the Pelmeni potato dumpling….OH MY! The artichoke hearts with labneh and sumac are a staple along with fish n’chips and who knew that the Pickle plate meant pickled items other than cucumbers? The chicken liver/matzoh crackers/so fantastic…I didn’t care for the lamb dip sandwich but only because I’m not fond of fat bits…my friends were swooning. That’s the only time ever that I didn’t love it all but not bad for each time I’ve visited. Hang Ah for Dim Sum and Grossman’s for anything else… my dance card is ecstatic when I’m invited to choose!
