   Had changed the reservation from 2 people to 4 - way in advance and had the confirmation email - Manager advised they only had an orginal reservation for 2 - caused a little confusion, but the manager made it ok

   This restaurant was highly recommended by staff at our hotel. It didn’t disappoint! While the food was good, the highlight was the entertainment! A trio of musicians that were extremely talented! We will definitely return!

   First off we would have rated this a 5 out of five on every element The only issue was on our surf and turf plate a couple of the items were cold. The flavor of everything we ate was 5 out of five we actually cleared the plate even with the cold food. What made the night even more exceptional was the response to our complaint of the cold food. Not only did our server Carla, apologize and tell us she was going to make it right, Chef Fernando, personally came to our table and apologized and took full responsibility for his crew. They provided us a free dessert, we didn't ask for anything for the error in the temperature we just wanted them to be aware, and then continue to let us know that he was dedicated to making it right. When's the last time any restaurant did that for anybody? We will 100% come back next time we're in San Jose del Cabo and highly recommend it to everybody. Friendly staff, good prices, really nice environment, and a staff dedicated to customers.

   Great food, drinks, service, and atmosphere + live music! What's not to like? We were led through the restaurant to a delightful courtyard with musicians performing and seated under the lights next to a glowing firepit (it was cold that night). Many wonderful dishes and drinks and songs afterward, we were extraordinarily happy that we had chosen to dine here. We started off with the Jicama and Kampachi Black Sashimis and the Taquitos. All three were delicious though we particularly appreciated the surprising flavors of the Jicama. From there we chose the Pressed Piglet and Mushroom Risotto which (again) were both delicious. The one thing I would say is that for those who are spice adverse, the risotto was both very tasty and quite mild. On the drinks front, we started off with a pair of La Adelitas and a La Capilla. Both had that perfect balance of sweet, tart, and fire. I followed up with a Cadillac Margarita which while voluminous was not quite as tasty. The service was excellent and the atmosphere delightful. Perhaps the best part was the musicians who later in the evening wandered about. Talented and considerate, they were able to 'read the table' quite well and added considerably to everyone's enjoyment of their evening.

   The entire dining experience was exceptional, from the flavour & presentation of the food to the excellent service and the ambiance of the restaurant. The live music added to our overall dining experience as well.

   The musicians playing were solid (I’m a professor of music) lending a wonderful ambience to the garden setting. The waiter took our drink orders quickly as well as an early dinner order for our 16-month grandson, avoiding a meltdown. Very much appreciated! The sommelier guided me toward a US$120 bottle of wine that I wasn’t in the mood to spend, so I opted for a glass of Cab. The wine was quite good but the pour was rather meager. My son-in-law had a better pour. The food was creative and flavors were superb, but my daughter who does not like seafood found limited options, one of which was sold out. That said, two of us had the Wellington and were very pleased with the presentation and flavors; the seasonings were delicious. Considering we were a party of 8, we received excellent service and we all enjoyed our meals and drinks. I would definitely return and am happy to recommend Habanero’s to others. Note: We started out walking to the south part of town because the OpenTable link to Habanero’s sent us there. A hostess at a nearby restaurant (Barrio del Tango) said she has had directed others looking for Habanero’s through the link, so that needs to be fixed.

   There was so much wrong with our meal tonight. But I will only mention the most egregious problem. We ordered the chocolate mud cake for dessert. It tasted utterly horrible so I asked the waiter if I could please see the dessert menu again to reread the description. He brought the menu and then told us that there were multiple shots of espresso and tequila in the dessert. Neither of these were mentioned in the description. Beyond just the horrible taste of the ice cream cake - it was completely not as described. I am stunned that someone would add alcoholic and/or caffeinated ingredients and not list them. The musicians were the positive thing about this restaurant.
