   Went to Hachi for Valentine's Day 2/14/25. Seated promptly upon arrival, which was a great start because even with reservations it can be difficult to manage during holiday. Loved the decor and overall ambiance; dimly lit and romantic. This is where our wonderful experience came to an end. Service was extremely slow and the Valentine's Day Omakase only menu($150 per person, which was clearly communicated to us before our reservation was made) was mismanaged as we were receiving duplicate of some items and none of the other until we reminded our server where we were in our experience. When some of these duplicate items were brought to our table we were told different "facts" about the same exact dish including where the fish was sourced from. Again, it is understandable as the restaurant is new and the staff might have misspoke/nervous but it was a little weird to hear one waiter tell us the fish was from Japan to a few minutes later hearing that same said fish was sourced from here in the US. No matter where the food came from we didn't care but unfortunately nearly every dish was extremely bland, and the only win was that it, like nearly every upscale sushi restaurant, had an elegant presentation. For $350 after tax, I'd never recommend anyone dine here and based on the quality of the food, I would not even try the regular menu on a slow day.

   Hachi is my all-time favorite since they opened in 2024 😍 I came again yesterday for Valentine’s Day Omakase. Everything was still perfect: friendly atmosphere, amazing food, the best service and hospitality from the team! This place is a must try for high-end sushi in Houston 🥰

   My wife and I experienced the omakase curated by Chef Leo, and every dish was absolutely phenomenal. The staff was incredibly attentive, and the managers on duty even stopped by to personally wish my wife a happy birthday. The combination of exceptional hospitality and top-tier cuisine made for an unforgettable dining experience. I’ve officially found my new favorite sushi spot!

   I am trying omakase courses for the second time, and while some courses include strong-smelling fish that I do not enjoy, we had a great time overall.

   Hachi is a fantastic spot for consistently delicious sushi at a reasonable price. The quality never disappoints. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are well-balanced, and the presentation is always on point. The menu offers a great selection, with something for everyone, from sushi lovers to those craving warm, comforting dishes. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is efficient and friendly.    The crudos were fabulous (we had three) and the nigiri are excellent, carefully crafted by Chef Leo and his team. The drinks were exceptional which was unexpected. We will be coming back to Hachi regularly.

    I am from Japan and visit all Japanese restaurants in Houston. This restaurant has the best customer service. We arrived to the restaurant 30 min before my reservation time, but the manager let us stay at their bar even though they were not yet. The bartender also allowed us to order drinks while the restaurant is still preparing for the service for the night. We were seated to a table when they were ready for the service, and our server was also very accommodating. I greeted the chef, and he was very friendly and appreciative. Their menu is very extensive. The quality of fish was good, but the sushi was ridiculously small and over priced as most upscale Japanese restaurants in Houston. The Wagyu beef on the hot rock was exceptional. Chawanmushi was a bit water down, and Uni pasta didn't have much uni. This restaurant has so much potential if they start serving the real size sushi, which are served in Japan.
