The name Hapa is derived from the Hawaiian term that describes a harmonious blend of Asian and American cultures. Like our name, our food reflects this dynamic combination. The menu is based on traditional Japanese cooking fundamentals which are then amplified, muted, or mixed with influences from many different styles of cooking until they are something completely new: they’re Hapa. We have stretched the boundaries of creativity to develop dishes that defy all the rules while holding true to our roots. We hope you will find our menu innovative, uninhibited, and distinctly fun! We had a great experience. Been going every year we come out for Blackhawks and avalanche games and love the people. There are the food and experience.

It’ll be a while before we come back to Hapa, after coming regularly for years. The menu has been updated significantly and they don’t seem particularly well thought through and executed. We got the house salad which was drowning in sesame oil and had slices of cucumber and tomato under the lettuce, it was a very odd presentation but had a lot of flavor. The beet poke was bland and basically just a pile of beets. The rolls were fine, they were just massive. They were too big to eat in one bite and fell apart. The highlight of the meal was the magic mushrooms which were baked salmon around avocado. Again the size was too large to eat in one bite but at least this item could be broken down into bite size pieces easily while still getting all the flavors. Service was nice but felt scattered and rushed. Possibly because of the layout which required food to be brought up the stairs and the servers to walk all the way from the front to the back of the restaurant to get things they needed.

Hapa has been my favorite sushi in Denver for years and their new menu has exceeded my expectations!! The Big Kahuna Roll and Crispy Rice were definitely our favorites but we loved everything. Can’t wait to come back and try more!!

This was our first visit to Hapa. The greeting host was super friendly. Our server Heather was outstanding and went above and beyond for me and my team. The food was exceptional. Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations! Would most definitely recommend!!
